The fix has been fixed and released upstream as a part of KDE Applications
v14.12 on December 17, 2014. Is it realistic to expect that the fix will be
backported to wheezy? Thanks

It looks like the patch has been applied to the KDE master branch, see
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=179066 .
Please apply the patch to wheezy (backports?) so the issue can be finally
resolved. Thanks
