I rarely use Dolphin, I prefer Konqueror. Anyway, I don't think it works in Dolphin, I tried it and Dolphin uses Ark to open "rar" files, for example. And Ark launched from Dolphin has the same problem with "Open with". The patch may not be perfect but the way I see it it's certainly better than not having that functionality at all.
