I've had a look.
Dropping evolution support seems like a no effort task.
Before doing so upstream, I'd like to be sure it is absolutely useless
to anyone.
I opened a ticket on SF to gather the opinions of the other devs.

I upgraded from wheezy and removed many obsolete packages, including
python-evolution.
Gbirthday complains (via popup message near GNOME3's notification area)
that python-evolution is missing and demands to install it in or
