I am another user who had scalable-cyrfonts-tex installed on his Debian
boxes.
I also faced the impossibility to upgrade
Looks like just a problem with dependencies between tex-common and
scalable-cyrfonts-tex.
I tried to apt-get remove tex-common, rm -rf /var/lib/texmf, and rm
-rf /etc/texmf (update log said "Warning: Old configuration style
found in /etc/texmf/updmap.d. For now these files have been included,
