Hi,
If this is the same issue I'm experiencing then I found an interesting
workaround:
At the grub menu press 'e' (like edit entry) and then press ESC and boot your
usual entry (or just press Ctrl+x).
This keeps the console usable, reprodu

Broken from last running version. Config has not changed. Black screen until
GDM startsup.
During grub loading, a fast message appears in the screen as if does not
recognize "terminal" and "gfxterm". Grub menu appears in correct resolution,
but after that black screen. H
