Telugu fonts now seem to be woking irrespective of whether the
ttf-freefont package is installed. I can confirm this with the
following version of packages - iveweasel (2.0.0.12-1), ttf-freefont
(20060501cvs-12), ttf-telugu-fonts 1:0.5.1.

(http://www.bbc.co.uk/hindi). I see that pango is enabled in configure
