I have a similar problem with Rhythmbox 0.12.3.. except it's about the opposite. It makes the volume too low. Not on the first time you play a song... it just lowers the volume slightly. Then each song it lowers it more. After about 2-3 songs the volume is inaudable at usually 0%. I am using
