I can confirm that reconfiguring console-data to tell it the right keyboard layout makes this error stop. Now, we just need some way to work that knowledge into the package. Phil

onto the shell to figure out the offending PID and run kill. This is probably upstream as much as Debian, but if a patch gets developed here, it would certainly ease acceptance of this change upstream. Since I've not experienced this issue personally, I'm not really qualified to push it
