Apparently, that had been sitting on my system since 2000. I can only
guess that it must have been pulled in by CPAN way back when...
I've done rm -rf on /usr/lib/perl5/Getopt and all

Here's a quick workaround for anyone hit by this bug waiting for a fix:
$ sudo ln -s /etc/viewvc/templates /usr/lib
Ugly, but it'll solve the problem for a day or two.

for some reason, /dev/hde1 was in my /etc/fstab, so I take it that's why
mkinitrd was looking for it. I changed /dev/hde1 back to /dev/hda1 (as
it should have been) and mkinitrd works again, so I guess this bug is
closable.
