I finally tracked out the real issue.
The crash was because I was using the deb-multimedia repository and
it's libavformat60 package depends on libsmbclient0 while the one from
Debian does not.
That samba library dependency somewhat makes amarok crash.
So this issue isn't happening using libavforma

I found a way to work around the segfault. Looks like the culprits were
/var/cache/apt/pkgcache.bin and /var/cache/apt/srcpkgcache.bin. For some
reason they have been corrupted. Just removing them avoids the segfault.

I installed sarge, and updated to sid.
When the default user created during installation loged in in GNOME,
the keyboard was set to american, and had to manually change the
keyboard settings to the correct layout (swedish). The "swedish" layou
n posix or something like
that, so i don't really know if not including this is a policy issue or
something different.
