Same problem with the latest OO update. See attached log. Writer does
not crash if the "zoom factor" is <=100%, or all figures are removed
from the document.

This problem is correlated with the zoom level. At 100% or less, the
document can be scrolled without a problem. A large zoom (150%,
Optimal, Page Width, etc.) results in a crash during scrolling.
