Attached is a patch to move zconf.h to a multiarch location.
This solves the problem for me and stuff build-depending on zlib1g-dev
still builds OK, so this is probably the simplest fix, requiring no
changes upstream.

I think this should be fixed in wheezy. It makes the package unusable
on all systems where I tried it, including a cowbuilder chroot.

It looks like some time in the past some patches got applied. E.g. $ bzr diff
