libdvdread4_4.2.0+20120521-2, see #688574.
We declared Breaks with broken libdvdread4 in repository.
As for now the problem will go away if you upgrade to
libdvdread4-4.2.0+20120521-3 from unstable.

Seems similar behavior was reported in #610332, but the fix for that bug
adds checks to see if aiccu is enabled and running instead of removing the
sleep.d script entirely, as Jeroen suggests (I believe removing the script
is the correct action as well).

I changed K3b's language from French to English and restarted it. It
then strangely complained about cdrdao missing, even though it didn't do
that in French:
Unable to find cdrdao executable
K3b uses cdrdao to actually write CDs.

Thanks Alessandro. I think I'm comfortable with the idea of starting out
with a library & am willing to deal with any extra learning curve that
comes with that. Thanks too for the pointers RE: documentation -- looks
like I've got some reading to do. :)
