Hm, right. I don't have /sys/fs/cgroup/memory mounted. I don't remember
having it disabled though. At least the systemd configuration is pristine.
I've also tested in a fresh wheezy VM with a pristine systemd
installation. Same problem.

So I'm wondering if you explicitly mount /sys/fs/cgroup/memory via other
means?
