Productive debug session at Axel's helped to discover the problems. I've
applied the patches upstream.
When you package please make sure that all the .pf2 on big-endian
systems are overwrtitten by new version. .pf2 should be identical on
big-endian and little-endia
Lsycnd upstream here, 2.0 cannot use fanotify.
I tried to use it, but fanotify does not report file moves and in thus
unusable for indexing software.
(Additionally fanotify keeps open filedescriptors, which can lead to
results not wanted if the indexer is delayed. In my opinion what we need
is

I had the misfortune to get an iPhone4 for work, so I have to deal
with it too. And I ran into exactly the same symptoms as the original
reporter...
Hopefully this will help: I and usbmuxd by hand to get some more debug
