My conclusion is that the reason why the build fail is that the asm/kbio.h file
is missing, needed by
lnx_io.c.
This file must have vanished for the sparc architecture as it have existed in
the linux-kernel-headers

begin for any bug older than a week (which is all of them save

I've now installed the Ubuntu server, assed in the desktop software I
prefer, the crashes are not occurring, and my system is performing all
the essential functions I had originally planned to run under Debian.
It's not the workaround I had hoped for, but it'll do intil Debian gets
fixed.

I believe the attached patch corrects this problem. The jar is included in the
deb, and the docs only go in the -doc package, and only once at that.
There is a bit of a hack in testing for the existence of the jar, but
this is because the target is run twice by cdb

those two actions? Or is just the context-menu name misleading?

I think you should package the version 3.7.x. Are you still working on
the Debian packages? Your last upload is almost one year ago. If you
don't mind I would like to fix at least some of the open bugs.

bad media, etc), the installer should be capable of parsing the logs
from the failed install, and pick up where it left off.

I cannot reproduce the described behaviour with the latest docbook-xsl
1.70.1 (NMU) packages in Sid. So I tag this bug fixed and
fixed-upstream.

I'd be stunned if this was actually a server problem, and not a
client-side problem related to grabs. Which window manager do you use?
Does changing it fix anything?
I use openbox. However, I don't think it's a client side problem, as
no grabs can prevent Ctrl-Alt-F1 and such to work. The
