[Bug 550014] [NEW] network manager no longer starts with the OS no mater what I do
Public bug reported: nm-applet no longer starts with the system. Even if it's selected in the startup applications menu. Even if you start it manually and tell it to memorize the running applications. When you do start it manually sometimes it starts with the network disabled or the wireless disabled or both. If it starts with the network enabled it never remembers the password and always asks. This started a couple of days ago after an update. After the reboot the order of items in the right of the top taskbar changed. The power is no longer the last item, the order of the icons is jumbled and nm-applet does not show up at all. [Bug 561354] [NEW] unable to drag a windows from one monitor to another
Public bug reported: When I enable the "single desktop multiple monitor" in the catalyst control center I can move the mouse from one screen to another but I am unable to drag a window from one screen to another. The xorg.conf file was created by the aticonfig --init command. The catalyst application is unable to set a virtual resolution and keeps hanging up. When I plug in the headphone the internal speakers mute but no sound comes out of the headphone. I can select "analog output" from the sound prefs but it makes no difference. Still no sound. When I plug in the HDMI nothing happens. The sound continues through the laptop speakers but not through the HDMI. [Bug 567649] Re: No sounds output through HDMI interface
I can confirm that the problem still exists in lucid final release and linux-alsa-driver-2.6.32-22-generic installed from the ppa:ubuntu-audio- dev. The HDMI output does not work and the headphone output does not work. Plugging in the headphone causes the sound to turn off on the speakers but no output on the headphones.. Routing the sound to the HDMI from the sound prefs sliences the speakers but no output on the HDMI. The only reason there were no comments was because I was waiting for developer input. I had reported that the problem existed with 2.6..32.21 as well. ** Changed in: alsa-driver (Ubuntu) Status: Expired => New -- No sounds output through HDMI interface https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/567649 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager For the last couple of days the wireless has become very flaky on my laptop. The connection keeps getting cut. It re-established itself but of course all my ssh sessions die and I have to reconnect. I had no problems with lucid and I didn't have any problems for a while after the upgrade. Also the network manager crashed when trying to file this bug. hook /usr/share/apport/package-hooks//source_network-manager.py crashed: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/apport/report.py", line 640, in add_hooks_info symb['add_info'](self) File "/usr/share/apport/package-hooks//source_network-manager.py", line 48, in add_info report[key] = _device_details(device) File "/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/problem_report.py", line 494, in __setitem__ assert k.replace('.', '').replace('-', '').replace('_', '').isalnum() AssertionError ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: network-manager 0.8.1+git.20100810t184654.ab580f4-0ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-22.35-generic-pae 2.6.35.4 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-22-generic-pae i686 NonfreeKernelModules: fglrx Architecture: i386 CRDA: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory Date: Tue Oct 26 11:18:12 2010 IfupdownConfig: auto lo iface lo inet loopback InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" - Release i386 (20101007) IpRoute: 169.254.0.0/16 dev wlan0 scope link metric 1000 10.0.0.0/8 dev wlan0 proto kernel scope link src 10.1.1.4 metric 2 default via 10.1.1.1 dev wlan0 proto static Keyfiles: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_NZ.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: network-manager ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 maverick -- The wireless keeps cutting out after a recent update https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/666541 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 596512] [NEW] The game crashes on launch after xinerama enabled
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-games This is the error message I get /usr/games/sol Xlib: extension "RANDR" missing on display ":0.0". The program 'sol' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'. (Details: serial 420 error_code 8 request_code 153 minor_code 5) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) [Bug 554959] Re: Headphones don't work.
The package does fix the headphone issue! The HDMI behavior is different too but not correct. Now the sound comes out through the laptop speakers even if you choose HDMI as the output. Congratulations on the fix for the headphone issue.
