Knowing how Ubuntu works this bug will not be corrected in Jaunty for the stupid hard freeze in code, even for bugs. As Kubuntu is a second class distro, let's hope that it will be corrected in Karmic. I suppose that they will release a new tool to update from Jaunty to Karmic or that they will warn about it being impossible to do in Kubuntu since the upgrade process needs to remove old and incompatible packages. -- Doesn't support installations which require a removal or updates which require additional software https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/342671 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I have installed language-pack-kde-es and I can confirm that I can't fully translate KDE to Spanish. That was the case also for previous versions of Kubuntu (KDE3 and KDE4) but it was solved once the kde-l10n- es and kde-i18n-es packages were installed and I changed the language in the systemsettings or kcontrol applications (language-pack-kde-XX does not depend on kde-i18n-XX or kde-l10n-XX). [Bug 263438] Re: Adept3: search does not provide expected results
Yes, but the problem is that Kubuntu is going to ship with Adept 3.0 as default (and only) package manager and that even if it's corrected in Adept 3.1 before April, the people using Intrepid will have to wait for six months with a weird semi-working package management application. I'm not using Adept just because of this bug. For me it's completely useless since I can never find what I'm looking for and I use Synaptic all the time, but Kubuntu users may not be aware that Synaptic even exists. I don't think that including Adept in its actual state as default package manager is a good idea just because of this bug. -- Adept3: search does not provide expected results https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/263438 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to adept in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 263438] Re: Adept3: search does not provide expected results
I don't think that reverting back to Adept2 is the solution but just that this bug must have been corrected even in feature-freeze status (since is not a feature, it's a bug) just because this bug makes the whole application work in a strange way that most users would find strange. For me, it would have been better to completely remove the search functionality until it was ready than to release the application with a semi-working search feature because either way, searching in Adept3 is mostly useless. Anyway, I would have used Synaptic instead of that because I rely too much in the package's name (normally I know the package name of what I want to install or at least part of it) but with that search functionality anyone can think that a package doesn't exist just because the package manager does not find it. -- Adept3: search does not provide expected results https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/263438 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to adept in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

[Bug 148744] encfs is not working on gutsy
Public bug reported: I'm trying to have an encrypted home directory for a user and I did the following steps: 1. I created the user other_user and so, the directory /home/other_user 2. I created a directory /home/.enc_other_user and changed its owner to other_user 3. Then I opened a terminal with "sudo -u other_user -H gnome-terminal" 4. Once in there, I created an encrypted volume with encfs /home/.enc_other_user /home/other_user -- -o nonempty. It asked for a password so I gave it one. 5. I unmount the volume with fusermount -u /home/other_user 6. I mount the volume again with the same command as in 4. It asks me again for the password and I enter it. 7. I change to the /home/other_user directory and copy a file with "cp /home/getaceres/README ." At that point it is expected that a new file is created in /home/.enc_other_use but nothing happens here. I can see in mtab that encfs is mounted in /home/other_user and also if I unmount it with fusermount -u /home/other_user it doesn't give any error. At that point (after unmounting) the new copied file is supposed to dissappear, but it doesn't and stays as clear text. I'm using Gutsy updated to 2007/10/03 with encfs 1.3.2-1-1.
