There's no gnome-volume-manager in Intrepid so I tried the command:

/usr/lib/gvfs/gvfs-hal-volume-monitor -n 2&>1 | tee gvfs-hal-vm.log

Also, there is no udevmonitor (at least by default) so I couldn't get
gvm.log
