I have attached a screen capture. I suggest you to change the life installation CD and also the Wubi installation automatic video card configuration. I am going to suggest you that he user should be able to choose manually the video card configuration, including the ubuntu classic installation without effects. I have to mention that the Wubi installation doesn't work, probably related with the same video card bug. After the installation, the only configuration that worked for me (login configuration) was the ubuntu classic without effects. I installed the FGLRX ATI/AMD driver (from ubuntu repositories). Public bug reported: Alien Arena appears to be a very good test case. 1. Start Alien Arena 2. Select Single Player 3. Textures start loading and progress meter is displayed 4. First frame never appears (but the music keeps on ticking) 5. I get a black screen, only the mouse works. 6. The infinite loop in logs starts. I have a lenovo laptop PC T400s, GMA 4500 MHD. I realize the problem is the Intel's video drivers. Hi Pedro I do only use evolution-mapi, so I don't know about the other protocols.
