[Bug 352999] [NEW] Jaunty installer select wrong keyboard

2009-04-01 Thread dirken
Public bug reported:

I'm currently testing the Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04 Beta release.
The problem I had was duing the installation procedure when one has to select
his keyboard. A default option is shown but that default option is wrong. I
tested this on multiple computers and I always get the "USA International (with
dead keys)" keyboard assigned. Altough I selected my country Belgium so why
does it not select the default keyboard Belgium?

[Bug 154408] Tracker won't search in my indexed files

2007-10-19 Thread dirken
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: tracker

Everyime i boot my pc tracker starts indexing. That's the first thing, i guess
he shouldn't index everything on every startup?
Secondly i can see my stats (tracker-stats) and he shows me more and more
indexed files but when searching with the comandline option tracker-search,
with the Deskbar applet, the tracker search tool itself or the build in gnome
feature i can't find a single file.
I'm running Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon final version since yesterday and i would like
to get this working.
I've just read bug 137720 where different solution are mentioned.
I'm now running trackerd -v 1 --reindex -f once again but still i can't search
any file.

[Bug 154408] Re: Tracker won't search in my indexed files

2007-10-21 Thread dirken
Ok at this moment everything seems to work fine :)
The only thing I did was to force Tracker to rescan my computer for the indexed
maps and now I can search using, Nautilus, the Tracker search utility and
Deskbar.
Also adding folders to index Tracker just does it. Everything seems to be fine
so maybe this bug can be considered closed?

[Bug 138349] Re: python-elementtree pack/usr/share/python-support/python-elementtree/elementtree/age has wrong directory structure

2007-11-13 Thread dirken
The problem is that all files in directory /var/lib/python-support/python2.5/
should be changed, the imports used in those files (such as gdata.py and
atom.py) are:
from elementtree import ElementTree

and this should be changed in every file to:
try:
from xml.etree import cElementTree # for Python 2.5 users
except ImportError:
  from elementtree import cElementTree

As long as this isn't updated elementree won't work with python 2.5
The patching solution seems to complicated to me so isn't there any other
solution?
Or maybe anyone who wants to change all the files? :p

[Bug 121653] Re: [gutsy] fglrx breaks over suspend/resume

2008-01-02 Thread dirken
I got the hibernate working on a dell inspiron 6000 notebook with integrated
ATI x300 card.
What i did in ubuntu gutsy gibbon was downloading the newest fglrx driver i
could find from debian: http://packages.debian.org/sid/fglrx-driver
I removed the gflrx driver from ubuntu using the restricted driver manager,
then installed the debian i just downloaded from debian.

I also configured the file: /etc/default/acpi-support
by changing the values POST_VIDEO and SAVE_VBE_STATE both to false.

One reboot and i could suspend and hibernate!

One strange thing: fglrxinfo gives me this info:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ fglrxinfo
display: :0.0 screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: DRI R300 Project
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI R300 20060815 x86/MMX/SSE2 TCL
OpenGL version string: 1.3 Mesa 7.0.1

Before changing the driver (which is exactly the same, just a new version) ATI
was mentioned here :/
Anyone who knows what i possible did wrong?

[Bug 466760] Re: No sound on Acer Aspire 9502WSMi

2010-04-01 Thread dirken
Bard,

I won't install a new version of Ubuntu on my PC until it's released
officially. However I downloaded the image of Ubuntu 10.04 Beta and just
booted my PC with it. Under the live-cd my sound doesn't work. But I
have already noticed that sometimes there are differences in what works
and what doesn't work between the live-cd and an installed version. So
I'm not sure it isn't ok yet.

I'm not having the time now to do some more testing but I will come back
to this issue within a few days and do some more testing with the live-
cd and provide you guys some more debugging data!

[Bug 352999] Re: Jaunty installer select wrong keyboard

2010-04-01 Thread dirken
Evan,

I just did the test with the live cd. The problem seemed to be solved right now.
However there's something I want to mention (don't know if nessecary to create
a seperate bug report for it):
1) My default keyboard layout is to 'België' = azerty keyboard, however when
typing in the test-textbox on the bottom it's still querty. When I press next
and immediatly go back the keyboard layout is set to azerty. So no big deal
however when you try you could be mistaken that the layout is not correct.
2) As mentioned in point 1 the keyboard layout is set to 'België', however on
screen there is a special character problem. It doesn't show 'België' but
instead it shows 'Belgi?'.
