[Bug 77321] html tidy
Public bug reported: Introduction Nature is life we can not think any thing without this.If we want healthy and wealthy life so we walk with nature as he moves. In each and every stage we have to stand with nature likes a security guard. Environment Support Group (ESG) is an independent non-profit voluntary organization, registered as a Public Charitable Trust. Our area of work involves research, documentation, advocacy, training and campaign support on a variety of environmental and social justice issues. We are amongst the foremost proponents in India for the reform of environmental decision making processes urging that the same be made more participatory and environmentally and socially just. ESG is a core member of Bangalore Response, a network of various NGOs and health based organisations in Bangalore responding with disaster relief. During the January 2001 Gujarat Earthquake ESG played a significant role in coordinating and disseminating earthquake relief and rehabilitation information. ESG projects cover a range of issues but a common theme is that of incorporating environmental and social justice concerns with community participation and involvement in decision making. ESG organizes or participates in facilitating public meetings and workshops with a view to raising awareness in the community, judiciary and government bodies about environmental issues, environmental law, and the citizens' Rights. Films are a medium through which to promote a message to a wider audience and ESG has thus far been involved in the making of two films. Ourcampaigns typically address environmental, social and economic justice issues, and often involve lobbying for compliance with environmental legislation by corporations, government authorities and individuals. Our involvement in a campaign begins either when another individual or group approaches ESG for comments or assistance, or when we ourselves find issue with a particular development project/investment. There is a plethora of environmental legislation in India, but it is rarely enforced.Furthermore, it appears that the public are not aware of their Rights with respect to environmental laws. For instance, public hearings in which all affected parties are permitted to participate are mandatory for certain types of projects, however this is not a commonly known fact. With each campaign, we seek to engage the public, government bodies and corporations and create awareness about the provisions of and enforcement of environmental legislation in India.A core factor in campaign work are the needs and wishes of project affected communities, and we seek to ensure that these are addressed. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Rejected -- html tidy https://launchpad.net/bugs/77321 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 957384] [NEW] xmodmap arrowkeys are not working in unity dash
Public bug reported: using ubuntu 11.10; I am using remapped arrow keys (using xmodmap). The mapping is : CapsLock -> Mode Switch h - left, l - right, j - down, k - up Which means pressing [capslock] and [j] together gives me the same functionality as pressing [down] arrow key. However in unity dash, this doesnt seem to work. I am unable to navigate through the options listed by dash using my remapped arrow keys. For example in dash, typing "fir" and by pressing some [down] arrows i can reach firefox. What I've done on Ubuntu 10.10 is add export PYTHONPATH="$PYTHONPATH:/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages" to my .bashrc file, and also to my .gnomerc file. This sets the $PYTHONPATH for python instances started from the shell or from the gnome desktop. You should then be able to import the python libs which you have installed from the Ubuntu repositories in python2.7. .bashrc and .gnomerc are both located in your home directory; you might have to create .gnomerc if it doesn't already exist. And one caution: && I had a syntax error in my .gnomerc which stopped the gnome desktop from loading, and I couldn't log in. [Bug 656745] Re: notebook always crashes if on battery (dell vostro 3700 and others)
@Aspera, Sorry for the delay in replying... miroslav's solution didnt work for me... In fact I had done exactly what you are saying in #75. The freezing is now reduced to almost twice/thrice a day. But it has started another problem (I dont know whether I have messed up some other files also!!!). Also I dont know whether they are related!!! The machine get very hot. The CPU temp goes close to 75C... I have observed that most of the freezing occurs when the temp goes very high. I am generally doing a regular work on the machine (mainly usual internet browsing (without much of java or flash) or dealing with text files.) [Bug 656745] Re: notebook always crashes if on battery (dell vostro 3700 and others)
I am facing the same problem. I have DELL VOstro 3700 with core i7, NVIDIA, Broadcom 4313. Earlier the system used to hang whenever I try to access wireless. I got a work around for the same by uninstalling broadcom drivers those were from Ubuntu repo, and downloaded from Broadcom website. But the switching to battery problem is still there. The system was shipped with 9.10, which I upgraded to 10.10. There the problem started. The system would hang within minutes of switching to battery. Then I thought of "upgrading" it further and tried to install 11.04, still no luck. I tried both 32bit and 64 bit for all these OS's (except for 9.10 64-bit). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/656745 Title: notebook always crashes if on battery (dell vostro 3700 and others) -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 656745] Re: notebook always crashes if on battery (dell vostro 3700 and others)
I have found a work around. After implementing the suggestion by Aspera (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/656745/comments/26), the frequency of freezing has reduced a bit... I am still on 10.10 and the problem is still continuing. I have tried both the (main) solutions. By the way, I found one interesting thing about this "freezing". I can still work over the network, if I have some music playing, it continues to play (even youtube is continued). More interestingly, my gmail status icon also remains the same (showing I am still available or busy or whatever)... Is there any way, I can unfreeze display & KB-mouse via ssh?
