I am facing the same problem. I have DELL VOstro 3700 with core i7, NVIDIA, Broadcom 4313.
Earlier the system used to hang whenever I try to access wireless. I got a work around for the same by uninstalling broadcom drivers those were from Ubuntu repo, and downloaded from Broadcom website. But the switching to battery problem is still there. The system was shipped with 9.10, which I upgraded to 10.10. There the problem started. The system would hang within minutes of switching to battery. Then I thought of "upgrading" it further and tried to install 11.04, still no luck. I tried both 32bit and 64 bit for all these OS's (except for 9.10 64-bit). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/656745 Title: notebook always crashes if on battery (dell vostro 3700 and others) -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
