[Bug 276990] Re: iwlagn causes kernel panic on 802.11n wifi
I can confirm that the drivers at http://www.orbit-lab.org/kernel /compat-wireless-2.6/2008/10/compat-wireless-2008-10-01.tar.bz2 make all my crashes go away, on my Thinkpad T61. [Bug 201544] Related to battery/on-ac?
Originally my T61 BIOS was set to have a dimmer backlight when on battery power, and not even xbacklight 100% could bring it back up to full brightness. I changed the BIOS, and now have full brightness on battery. Except when I run mplayer. It seems that if I run mplayer on battery, my backlight brightness drops and stays down, and when I next run mplayer on AC, I get the full brightness back. Tested it a bit further, mplayer backend used has no effect. However, I *can* reproduce this with just "xset -dpms". Public bug reported: Right now, /etc/grub.d/10_linux insists on GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="rootflags=subvol=${rootsubvol} ${GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX}" and the only way for me to tell a remote box that booting with a degraded RAID1 for a btrfs root filesystem is via $ grep degraded /etc/default/grub GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="rootflags=subvol=@,degraded" but this is brittle because it doesn't do the ${rootsubvol} logic from /etc/grub.d. [Bug 809221] Re: unable to mount ceph root at boot due to stripping of trailing slashes
mountall calls strip_slashes for the device and the mount path. For mount path, it makes sense. For mounting /dev/sda on something, having /dev mounted first makes sense, and I guess for that you need strip_slashes. Perhaps the strip slashes and that part of the dependency logic should only trigger for bind mounts or things in /dev. A simpler check for that might be "not a remote filesystem" -- you already have is_remote, and for remote filesystems the device just isn't a local path ever. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/809221 Title: unable to mount ceph root at boot due to stripping of trailing slashes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mountall/+bug/809221/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 809221] Re: unable to mount ceph root at boot due to stripping of trailing slashes
The Ceph device string can be (EBNF off the top of my head) address = ip | hostname mon = address [ ":" port ] mons = mon [ "," mons ] dev = mons ":" path For example: 1.2.3.4:/ 1.2.3.4:/foo 1.2.3.4:6789:/foo 1.2.3.4,2.3.4.5:/foo 1.2.3.4:6789,2.3.4.5:/foo 1.2.3.4:6789,2.3.4.5:6789:/foo path always begins with a slash. And there's IPv6 support in there too. [Bug 769435] Re: MacBook Pro touchpad stops working after resume from hibernation (natty)
I see this on my MacbookAir3,1 on Ubuntu 11.04, "sudo rmmod bcm5974; sudo modprobe bcm5974" has always fixed it. Using bcm5974-dkms 1.1.9 from the mactel-support PPA on kernel 2.6.38-8.42. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/769435 Title: MacBook Pro touchpad stops working after resume from hibernation (natty) -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 769435] Re: MacBook Pro touchpad stops working after resume from hibernation (natty)
Oh and I don't use hibernation, just suspend-to-ram, so hibernation is not the trigger for this bug.
[Bug 662437] [NEW] mlocate should not index ~/.Private, there's nothing of interest there
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: mlocate This is with mlocate 0.22.2-1ubuntu in Ubuntu 10.04.1. I ran locate on some all-too-common search string, and was surprised to see it list results such as: /home/tv/.Private/ECRYPTFS_FNEK_ENCRYPTED.* there is absolutely no value in indexing the encrypted form of those, and it just seems like a waste of cpu/disk/whatnot. mlocate's inflexibility is problematic.. We can't do PRUNENAMES="ECRYPTFS_FNEK_ENCRYPTED.*" as it has no clue about globbing. PRUNEPATHS="/home/*/.Private" seems equally impossible. PRUNENAMES=Private has false positives, but it seems to be the best that is possible, and I've confirmed it to work. ** Affects: mlocate (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- mlocate should not index ~/.Private, there's nothing of interest there https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/662437 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 616467] [NEW] chat history impossible to read on active channel
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: telepathy-idle (this bug may belong to some UI layer that is not in telepathy-idle.deb; I don't know Empathy well enough to tell) Assume an IRC channel I left open overnight, with active conversation through the night. In the morning, I want to read what happened, but the conversation is still ongoing. Every time something happens on the channel, the window scrolls to the end, even if I'm dragging the scrollbar with the mouse. Thus, reading the history becomes really hard.. ** Affects: telepathy-idle (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- chat history impossible to read on active channel https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/616467 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
