Thank you for submitting this bug report. Please, could you do the following and attach all the files it produces: -disconnect the device -in a terminal, start udevadm in monitor mode and capture output by running: sudo udevadm monitor -e | tee udev.log -connect the device - open a second Terminal and capture lshal, dmesg and ls the attached volumes by running: lshal > lshal.txt dmesg > dmesg.txt ls -l /dev/sd* > devices.txt -Press Control-C in the first terminal with the "udevadm". -attach lshal.txt, devices.txt, dmesg.txt and udev.log to the bug report -paste the output of "ck-list-sessions" into the bug report -paste the output of "id haldaemon" into the bug report Thank you very much. ** Package changed: nautilus (Ubuntu) => hal (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: hal (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- Whenever I try to mount USB storage drive, a message comes up. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/382995 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for sending in your bug report. Could you try running firefox from the command line by running Applications->Accessories->Terminal and running this command: "firefox". Please, post any errors you get from running firefox this way. Also, I'll need you to try creating a new firefox profile and see if the same thing happens. You can create a new profile by following these directions: Start Firefox by entering the following command is a terminal: firefox -ProfileManager. You should now see the Profile Manager window. Important note: From the Profile Manager you are also able to remove and rename profiles. Be very careful when deleting profiles, if you created the profile in a directory that already existed, the entire directory will be removed! Click on the 'Create Profile...' button to start the 'Create Profile Wizard'. Click 'Next' and enter a descriptive name for the new profile. Click Finish to have Firefox create the new profile. You should now be taken back to the Profile Manager and the newly created profile should be listed. Select it and click 'Start Firefox'. Try to reproduce the bug with this new profile. Note: you can go back to your own profile by starting Firefox using the command firefox -ProfileManager again, selecting your own profile, and clicking on 'Start Firefox'. [Bug 384147] Re: Jaunty 'randomly' freezes with flashing/blinking Caps Lock on Acer Aspire 6920G
Yes, I agree that your drive is possibly failing. If something important like upstart (init) or even the kernel itself resides on one or more of those bad blocks anything can happen. Kernel panics due to hard drive failure is rare, but I've seen it a couple times. I'm not sure if there is a way to grab the logs from memtest. You can just post if you saw errors or not. I'm going to go ahead and close out this bug for now. If you get this problem again on good hardware don't hesitate to open another bug report. OK, that's a different story (thanks for the update). Could you confirm it is doing the exact same thing (flashing keyboard lights, locked up, etc)? If it is, are they the same lights flashing? [Bug 382761] Re: Frequent system freezes
Thank you for submitting this bug. Have you tried any hardware diagnostics (including the memtest)? If you haven't could you at least run memtest when you have a chance and post your results, please? If you have grub installed than memtest should be an option on boot. If not then you can boot of the Ubuntu CD and run it from there. Thank you for submitting your bug. [Bug 384205] Re: I can not open Youtube page.
Thank you for the update. Could you do the following to create a new firefox profile and see if that is causing the problems, please?: :Start Firefox by entering the following command is a terminal: firefox -ProfileManager. You should now see the Profile Manager window. Important note: From the Profile Manager you are also able to remove and rename profiles. Be very careful when deleting profiles, if you created the profile in a directory that already existed, the entire directory will be removed! - Click on the 'Create Profile...' button to start the 'Create Profile Wizard'. Let me know how that goes. [Bug 384205] Re: I can not open Youtube page.
Thank you for the update. You can switch back to the old profile (like the last paragraph in the instructions tell you how to) and backup your bookmarks by going to Bookmarks -> Organize Bookmarks -> Import and Backup -> Backup. Then switch back to the new profile and import the old bookmarks (Bookmarks -> Organize Bookmarks -> Import and Backup -> Restore -> Choose File). Then from now on you should be using the new profile with your existing bookmarks. I hope that helps. Thank you. ** Changed in: firefox-3.0 (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Invalid -- I can not open Youtube page. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/384205 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
