Thank you for the additional information. I agree, one would expect clean results from a brand new piece of hardware. However, the only time I've seen these errors has been when a hard drive or the controller failed. That's not to say that is always the case, but that has been my experience in the past. I just want to be really sure that everything is fine with the hardware.
One last question I have is how did you check on SMART? Did you use a BIOS/firmware utility or smartmontools? What kind of tests did you run?
