[Bug 252028] [NEW] dialog always on top too greedy
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: apturl This bug was introduced with a patch for Bug 234992. Apturl dialogs now stay on top of other windows, but they also try to stay on top of processes spawned from it (Synaptic). This results in a disabled dialog on top of a progress window in the background. [Bug 375235] Re: Sync twitux 0.69-3 (universe) from Debian unstable (main).
Debian has a build-dep on scrollkeeper instead of rarian-compat. rarian- compat in Ubuntu provides scrollkeeper as a virtual package, so they are effectively the same at build time. I checked the versioning on gnome-doc-utils and intltool: both specify minimum versions lower than those in the archives for any Ubuntu release, so even on an older system this should be okay. So yes, I believe these changes can be safely dropped. :) -- Sync twitux 0.69-3 (universe) from Debian unstable (main). https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/375235 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I was able to build this package not too long ago, however obviously it does not at the moment, so I'm going to close this bug. It is probably not difficult to merge the changes, but that would only divert the package from Debian again. My main reasons for a sync would be to keep up with Debian changes without hassle in MoM or other merges, and for a little bit of packaging practice. sikon: Yes, it would, however popup positioning/expiration is not a feature advertised or recognized by any notification daemon. [Bug 256479] [NEW] severe texture corruption on some 3D games with compositing enabled
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: libgl1-mesa Intrepid, latest mesa (7.1~rc3-1ubuntu2) on an Intel i945: Many games, such as Neverball/putt and Emilia Pinball, run seemingly fine on a base Intrepid install without any desktop effects enabled. [Bug 309803] Re: gwhois depends on inetd
I was originally going to have debconf set a question default depending on whether or not an inetd was installed, but ran across a roadblock: the package can't tell if an inetd will be installed if it is being installed the same time as gwhois, since the config is ran before unpacking. So, the debconf question remains as it was and still defaults to true, but with an added note that it needs an inetd to run as a server. The prerm and postinst scripts then check for the existence of /usr/sbin/inetd and act accordingly on the debconf value. Is this a feasible solution? ** Attachment added: "gwhois_20081227ubuntu1.debdiff" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/21661998/gwhois_20081227ubuntu1.debdiff -- gwhois depends on inetd https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/309803 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 309803] Re: gwhois depends on inetd
James: Thanks for the response. I'll file a Debian bug when I return from classes today to see what the maintainer thinks. However, in the meantime, would it be suitable to go with the most recent solution but without the template/translation changes, and then merge/sync the Debian version when it is updated? I think the debconf dialog (and the Recommends field) should appropriately hint that an inetd server needs to be installed, even though the extra string would be helpful. Can confirm. NetworkManager's init script has to be started again afterwards. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . I have classified this bug as a bug in gvfs. For future reference you might be interested to know that a lot of applications have bug reporting functionality built in to them. [Bug 317894] Re: grandr not in menu
James, I wasn't aware of a NotShowIn line for desktop entries. Changed, thanks. With regards to the build system, I switched it to CDBS because: 1) it looked like a stock debhelper rules file 2) the source package would fail to build after the first time Though in retrospect, that probably wasn't the best idea, and this patch leaves debhelper for building. Turns out the build problem I was experiencing was the result of trying to fix a lintian warning: debian-rules-ignores-make-clean-error. If it's okay, I'm just going to let that warning be, because "fixing" it only brings about more problems. :) I was planning on filing this in the Debian bug tracker after this was resolved in case changes needed to be made. Should I go ahead and file it now? Thanks! [Bug 317894] Re: grandr not in menu
James, Odd, I tried using [ -f Makefile ] earlier and it didn't work, but it seems to be working fine now. Changed. I'm not entirely sure why the source Makefiles are changing in the diffs, but it could be because of an automake version difference (see the comments at the top of the diff about automake). This is actually present in the in the current version in the archives as well. Reset Standards-Version and the Build-Depends lines. I changed the desktop comment because it sounded repetitive to have a name and comment with "screens" used twice, but since it really sounds fine as it was I've changed it back to reduce noise. :) The source package does not include an icon at all, and the one it was previously referencing in the desktop file did not exist. I chose display because it was the most obvious choice and looks to be already present in most icon themes. I'll file those Debian bugs in a little bit. Let me know if anything else needs changed. I think I'm learning more about packaging in this report than I have been reading wiki pages. :P Thanks again, Jacob ** Attachment added: "grandr_0.1+git20080326-1ubuntu2.debdiff" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/21440049/grandr_0.1%2Bgit20080326-1ubuntu2.debdiff -- grandr not in menu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/317894 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
