[Bug 24080] Re: Network: problems establishing connection after upgrade (hoary->breezy)
I've since upgraded my hardware and networking is working as it is supposed to. I think, back then, I solved the problem by configuring my router (SMC7004VBR) not to use NAT, but direct connection. -- Network: problems establishing connection after upgrade (hoary->breezy) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/24080 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 114694] Re: bigloo-ude does not remove /etc/emacs/site-start.d/05bigloo-ude on remove
I don't yet have 8.10 beta (8.04 amd64), but the bug seems to be present. Steps to reproduce: 1. install bigloo-ude sudo apt-get install bigloo-ude (other necessary stuff gets pulled in) 2. open a scheme file in emacs emacs test.scm -> error in emacs: File mode specification error: (file-error "Cannot open load file" "bee- mode") 3. remove bigloo ude sudo apt-get remove bigloo-ude sudo apt-get autoremove (remove pulled stuff) 4. open a scheme file in emacs -> error in emacs: File mode specification error: (file-error "Cannot open load file" "bee- mode") if you remove bigloo-ude with apt-get purge .. error does not occur. Actually, I'm not sure if its policy to leave file into /etc/emacs/site- start.d/ directory or remove it. Anyway, this behaviour triggers the bug. [Bug 21637] Re: xkb greek polytonic: cannot write psili and dasia after upgrade to breezy
There might still be some problems left in hardy. I upgraded from gutsy, where I was able to write polytonic Greek with XIM after I replaced the Compose file with a modified one. After upgrading to hardy (beta -- now up to date as of 2008-04-20) I found that I was not able to type dasia or psili anymore (with XIM, previously shift+ä and shift+ö + plus letter produced the breathings -- ä and ö being the two keys left from L in my keyboard) -- pressing them did not produce anything. Then I modified /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/gr file, keys AC10 and AC11 to key { [ dead_acute, dead_dasia ] }; // ´ ̓ key { [ dead_grave, dead_psili ] }; // ` According to a freedesktop.org bug (unfortunately I don't have the link right here, if I recall, Simos Xenitellis who also subscribes to this bug, commented/opened it. This didn't change anything. Then I changed dead_dasia to U0313 and dead_psili to U0314 -- Now I am able to type the breathing marks, but they don't combine with other accents -- acute is just written over the breathing, for instance. I seems that the fixes that are in hardy are not complete. [Bug 21637] Re: xkb greek polytonic: cannot write psili and dasia after upgrade to breezy
Ok. I should have checked my old modified Compose file. It seems that hardy has /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/gr: key { [ dead_acute, dead_horn ] }; key { [ dead_grave, dead_ogonek ] }; which I changed to key { [ dead_acute, U0313 ] }; key { [ dead_grave, U0314 ] }; and in /usr/share/locale/en_US.UTF-8 has U1313's and 01314's instead of U0313 or U0314. I changed U1000313's and U1000314 to U0314 and got polytonic input working correctly. I can confirm this issue. I first noticed this when trying to play nethack and some of the colours were incorrect (Yellow was brown, white was light gray etc, perhaps a bit different situation that what was described above). And to add to my previous post: (nvidia proprietary driver). I had the same problem with gutsy. [Bug 118906] Re: Console displays colors incorrectly
Ok, after a bit of digging (should have done this in the first place), I have Finnish keyboard and I noticed that some special characters (eurosymbol, äöå) don't work as well. [Bug 77331] Rhythmbox cannot open an mp3 stream
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox When trying to open an mp3 stream from www.radiohelsinki.fi rhythmbox just displays "Connecting" at the lower right corner and hangs. I am using current edgy (28/12/06) and: rhythmbox 0.9.6-0ubuntu4 libgstreamer0.10-0 0.10.10-1ubuntu2 I ran rhythmbox with debugger and sent SIGINT to the process. [Bug 539100] [NEW] menucolors patch doesn't work with .nethackrc
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 9.10 ships nethack with menucolors patch, which works nicely if you don't have .nethackrc. [Bug 987720] [NEW] Xorg freeze
Public bug reported: After upgrading to 12.04 (beta), my Apple cinematic display hasn't been working correctly. Booting and splash screen works normally, but at the end of the boot the screen goes black. This doesn't happen all the the time -- I managed to boot correctly once, another time I got to gnome login before then screen froze. My current workaround is to boot older kernel (the one used in 11.10, 3.0.x). Since this is my work machine, I haven't had time to debug more thoroughly, so I don't know if the problem lies in nvidia drivers, kernel or x.org. [Bug 987720] Re: Xorg freeze - black screen after splash screen
I've tried debuggin this, but haven't been very successful -- using 3.0 kernel as a workaround doesn't work anymore. Purging nvidia-drivers (with apt-get purge) resulted largely unusable system: booting with nouveau (with 3.2 kernel) splash screen was corrupted, however I got the drumroll sound but with black screen. 3.2 recovery mode gave me kernel error "EDD Information not available" and the booting was halted. I tried to downgrade to .33 driver but couldn't find way to do it. I tried manually installing (dpkg -i) nvidia-current- dev_280.13-0ubuntu6.1_amd64.deb which was the latest package before 295.40, but the package had dependency issues and wouldn't install. When installing/uninstalling drivers, jockey would also sometimes complain about failed install so I mainly used apt-get for the job (is there something else jockey does besides listing the options and installing/uninstalling them?) However, I can confirm that my monitor is the source of problems. I was forced to use another monitor at some point, which worked fine. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/987720 Title: Xorg freeze - black screen after splash screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers/+bug/987720/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 916798] [NEW] No sound on Mac Mini 2011 [Macmini5, 2, Cirrus Logic CS4206, Green Headphone Out]
Public bug reported: Sound doesn't work in Mac Mini 2011 (macmini 5,2) with Ubuntu 11.10 (x86_64). So far I've only managed to get sound output from the internal speaker by adding options snd-hda-intel model=mbp55 to /etc/modprobe.d/alsabase.conf. This way I can get output from the left speaker using Gnome's (Pulseaudio's?) speaker test. I've also tried using 'imac27' and 'auto' as values for model which produces no sound output. I've also checked alsamixer, but the outputs were not muted.
