Well it's not a package, it's the websites, the only reference seems to
be the ubuntu.com one:

http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/jaunty/alpha3

With "update-manager -d" which is not correct for KDE as this pulls in
56 Gnome libs/deps. I can't find it (Perhaps down to poor Google skills)
on the kubuntu.org site. The only referance is on the kubuntuguide.org
site, but that again is incorrect as it's saying to use

kdesu "adept-manager --dist-upgrade-devel"

Adept has changed and there is no suck p[ackage, and adept itself only
takes the installer or upgrade commands.

Unfortuntly the ramdisk is unable to complete, so that command wouldn't
work, that being said I gave up and did a fresh install, the laptop was
useless for a week.

Sorry I couldn't leave it around. I will try replicate with another
laptop but it might have been a once off event.

I'm not sure what application runs the new notification pop-ups in
KDE4.2 on Intrepid. Every notification the displays is triplicated, ie.
my Kicker is on top of screen and when a torrent is finished as an
example, three boxes stacked one below the other appears to let me know
when 1 Torrent has finished. It's happening with any, Network Transfer,
Kopete Message. Always 3 messages for what should be one, they are all
identical. I'm updated to the latest version that's in Backports right
now.

It's working properly now, ran an full-upgrade. kdebase-workspace still
seems to not be installed, but I got 25 updates (pasted below) earlier
and one of them fixed it. The -bin version seems the same too, so
obviously one of the other packages.

[Bug 365669] [NEW] Intrepid to Jaunty upgrade - disk uuid missing

Upgrade from Intrepid to Jaunty (Intrepid was fresh install from
Alternate install CD using full disk encryption and LVM). Jaunty upgrade
went ok, removed old Kernels and packages, but on reboot there was a
long timeout approx 6 secs into dmesg, the timeout taking approx 3mins
before busybox came up.

Initial thought was the initramfs not properly built for disk encryption
as per bug #317297. This was false assumption, turned out the symlink
from /de/disk/by-uuid/disks_uuid_number -> /dev/sda5 was missing,
causing crypt modules to not be loaded.

Create symnlink manually, ctrl-d out of busybox and it immediatly asked
for passphrase to decrypt drive. System booted, although currentl with
no GDM, suspicion of bad upgrade. This is weird as there was no
warning/errors in Synaptic/update-manager while still intrepid.

I think this may be an update-initramfs error. I've jsut run an dpkg-
reconfigure -a and got the following error at he end:

update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-2.6.28-11-generic
cpio: ./sbin/udevadm: Function stat failed: No such file or directory
update-initramfs: failed for /boot/initrd.img-2.6.28-11-generic

On reboot of system it unsurprisingly did not work.

Well I managed to run the server for a good week until I got the
following:

[1185505.906355] set_rtc_mmss: can't update from 59 to 0

I'd thought I'd found the initial problem where this server and one like
it run checks against various hosts and due to a bug in some checking
code had been fighting over hosts, getting lots of failed process and
utilisation went through the roof. But with the other off this box
lasted a week, but alas it still failed.

Any ideas ? The time on the box is not stuck at 1440hrs yesterday
(Sunday the 12th Oct).

[Bug 292969] [NEW] Saved Session Names After Upgrade From KDE3 HArdy Appear as Hex/Random Ascii

I've upgraded from Hardy and KDE3 to Intrepid with obviously KDE4.
Upgrade was smooth and caused no issue, but oddly the Saved Sessions in
Kate are now using what appears to be the Session ID for the saved
session name rather than the physical name. This is when I look at the
drop down list of saved session names inside Kate itself. What's really
odd is if I use the Kate Session Applet plasmoid it reads them fine and
displays the proper names. Very bizare stuff.

If you need anything from me on this let me know, can't really give you
the session files as they are remote sftp sessions. The only one that
shows up correctly is "Default", the rest are gibberish, I've attached a
screenshot of it.

I tried the Plasmoid which seemed to read them correctly but it actually
failed to load any of them. I resorted to renaming all my files based on
the Name= field int he file... slow & painful but it worked
(Substituting %20 for any whitespace chars).

Ok well I tried switching back to the -16 Kernel and this is not the
cause:

This was run about 5mins after entering this bug, it went from tsc to
acpi_pm almost immediatly after boot. Something els emust be causing it
or it's a bug in the whole 2.6.24 Kernel, I'm not sure. The time has
frozen on that date time.

Hi There,

I'm having this exact problem on Hardy Server, but this is fairly
critical for me. The same error is logged:

The problem here is once acpi_pm is installed the clock stays at that
time as ntp seems to either be unable to update time or it constanly
loses time and ntp manages to "hold" the time at the current time (Sep
20 10:22:26 in this case). This is a real showstopper as this causes all
sorts of problems, Cacti graphs stop logging as it effectivly freezes in
time as far as cacti is concerned and nagios/cron have problem
scheduling things. The server (I've two that do this) both running
2.6.24-19-server become highly unstable, ssh logins fail, the system
becomes highly unresponsive. I haven't pinned down when exactly this
occured but it's basically rendered Hardy Server useless. It seems to
have happened int he last couple of weeks but I'll be digging through
the old logs to see... the problem being the logs are pretty useless
with the time being completely off !

As regards changing clocksource the ones available are:
sudo cat /sys/devices/system/clocksource/clocksource0/available_clocksource
acpi_pm jiffies tsc

I'm trying jiffies as acpi_pm and tsc appear useless. The processor is a
Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 2.40GHz and it's Dell server, I'm afraid I'll have
to update later on model numbers (it's a remote system) in case this is
something hardware specific as I know both are the same, in fact so far
a 3rd Server which is a HP proliant hasn't show same error.

I'd have to say I can't really wait for Ibex on this as the whole point
of LTS Server is so it can sit there for 2 years or so till the next
LTS. If you need and more info or want me to test anything then no
problem.

Ok well jiffies did not work, in cat when I switch ntp back on and ran
date every 5 secs or so I get this:

while the ssh terminal was failry responsive some commands didn't seem
to complete and had to be ctrl-C to quit. This is exactly what happened
on the tcs/acpi_pm clocksource as well.

This is a Dell Poweredge 2800, what I've also read is forcing the CPU to
stay at full speed can stop it which would be a ok temporary solution
for me as it's more important the server works, but seems that scaling
isn't available in Server ? Either that or it's handled differntly fromt
he scaling governors like it was before:

I've set clocksource=acpi_pm at boot to see if starting out on it rather
than switching from TSC solves the issue, I'll update as soon as I have
info. Just to add this never occurs right after or during boot, it can
take several hours to occur. I haven't spotted a pattern yet but I'll
keep my eyes open.

Ok well that didn't fix it, despite acpi_pm enabled at boot it still
seems to use TSC (Have to pardon my not understanding the inner workings
of this) as I get the following:

It doesn't give me the switching to acpi_pm but the clock has already

Hi There,

I'm having this exact problem on Hardy Server, but this is fairly
critical for me. The same error is logged:

The problem here is once acpi_pm is installed the clock stays at that
time as ntp seems to either be unable to update time or it constanly
loses time and ntp manages to "hold" the time at the current time (Sep
20 10:22:26 in this case). This is a real showstopper as this causes all
sorts of problems, Cacti graphs stop logging as it effectivly freezes in
time as far as cacti is concerned and nagios/cron have problem
scheduling things. The server (I've two that do this) both running
2.6.24-19-server become highly unstable, ssh logins fail, the system
becomes highly unresponsive. I haven't pinned down when exactly this
occured but it's basically rendered Hardy Server useless. It seems to
have happened int he last couple of weeks but I'll be digging through
the old logs to see... the problem being the logs are pretty useless
with the time being completely off !

As regards changing clocksource the ones available are:
sudo cat /sys/devices/system/clocksource/clocksource0/available_clocksource
acpi_pm jiffies tsc

I'm trying jiffies as acpi_pm and tsc appear useless. The processor is a
Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 2.40GHz and it's Dell Poweredge 2800 server, A 3rd
Server which is a HP proliant hasn't show same error and it does have
the hpet clocksource.


Ok well jiffies did not work, in cat when I switch ntp back on and ran
date every 5 secs or so I get this:

This also seems to lock up the machine, I've tried a remote reboot and
while the ssh terminal was failry responsive some commands didn't seem
to complete and had to be ctrl-C to quit. This is exactly what happened
on the tcs/acpi_pm clocksource as well.

I've also read is forcing the CPU to stay at full speed can stop it
which would be a ok temporary solution for me as it's more important the
server works, but seems that scaling isn't available in Server ? Either
that or it's handled differntly fromt he scaling governors like it was
before:

I've set clocksource=acpi_pm at boot to see if starting out on it rather
than switching from TSC solves the issue, I'll update as soon as I have
info. Just to add this never occurs right after or during boot, it can
take several hours to occur. I haven't spotted a pattern yet but I'll
keep my eyes open.

Attached Dmesg with acpi_pm enabled in grub.

Despite acpi_pm enabled at boot it still seems to use TSC (Have to
pardon my not understanding the inner workings of this) as I get the
following:

It doesn't give me the switching to acpi_pm but the clock has already
started to wander after being up for only a short while.

Well I've found the update that caused it, I believe it's the last
Kernel update that went on, ever since then I've had this issue, traced
back my emails to some of the folk onsite asking for a restart after
this date.

Correction it appears there was no reboot when I upgraded from
2.6.24.16.18, so the first use of the 2.6.24-19.36 kernel actually
appeared to cause an error. I skipped the first -19 upgrade.

When you upgrade (In my case from Gutsy to Hardy) tcptraceroute is not
installed. A replacement script (follow the symlinks time)

If I do an 'aptitude reinstall tcptraceroute' I get the proper working

The format of the command in the /usr/bin/tcptraceroute.db command for a
tcptraceroute does *not* follow correct tcptraceroute format either so
it's not currently safe to swap in. First off the upgrade script
(/usr/bin/tcptraceroute.db) requires root, full tcptraceroute does not
as it's setuid.

Also trying to run a command similar to tcptraceroute host port

does not correspond to how they are calling it within the 
/usr/bin/tcptraceroute.db script: Something which should be similar (based on 
limited testing)
 
sudo /usr/bin/traceroute.db -T 10.0.28.2 30 -n -P tcp -p 311

But this result sin a lot of this:

Which just ends up timing out and still does not seem to use (in this case) 
port 311. I think if people are calling tcptraceroute from scripts or command 
line they are expecting same and *working* functionality from the tool. 

I don't want to come of pretty harsh or ungreatful in this but it really
doesn't do what it says on the tin. Running the same command which times
out above after perfomring a reinstall to the *real* version of
tcptraceroute gives this(An far faster too):

Odd thing when you do a reinstall it says it's installed, but clearly
it's not, so not sure if it's some sort of meta-placeholder
(terminology?) pretending to be the same version.

.../tcptraceroute_1.5beta6-2_amd64.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement tcptraceroute ...

Just to clarify in case it's not obvious, tcptraceroute (the proper one)
was installed under Gutsy, so during upgrade it decided not to install

I meant to update this ages ago. I set my master KDE date layout too
-MM-DD to fix it, but I reckon in the backend it should perhaps
*understand* date layout, in my mind sorting by date rarely involves
anything other than Newest To Oldest, or at least by default it should
do this. If someone wants to find every date starting on the 1st of the
Month then they should configure it but for 1st time user might be a
little odd of a setting.

Well problem fixed for me but maybe it's something to consider anyway.

I upgraded to Alpha4 from Intrepid. IT worked fine for a while, did it's
very first index, told me it had finished, I was looking about System
Settings at Notifications panel when it crashed, probably 2mins after it
had completed first index.

FWIW: The laptop is a Sony PCG-FX701 (i386 AMD Athlon processor).

I've just encountered this this morning after getting update to 4.2
indication on my Intrepid install (with back-ports enabled). Mine seemed
to be an issue with Kate requiring libplasma3 but libplasma2 was
blocking it. I've attached a dump of errors I got but I can attach
anything els ein case it's of use (or open a new bug if you want it).

I got around it by manually force installing libplasma3, the tried a
forced overwrite of

kdebase-workspace-libs4+5_4%3a4.2.0-0ubuntu1~intrepid2_i386.deb

Which seemed to be the next problem after the Kate issue, then I just
did a force on full-upgrade (patience ran out !) and it worked. So
perhaps I didn't do it in most effiecient way but I've got 4.2 running.

Better solution to your issue is to do the folowing:

sudo htpasswd /etc/ocsinventory/htpasswd.setup admin

Then set a password for the admin account. Also when it then asks for
the details on the HTML page when you gain access you have to provide it
you root mysql user and password and the server which will be localhost
assuming this is actually ont he box you are running the install.

Also there is a bug here where you will not be able to upload files. You
need to do the following if /var/www/ocsinventory does not exist.

sudo mkdir /var/www/ocsinventory
sudo chown www-data:www-data /var/www/ocsinventory

Another thing you need to verify is that you have enabled mod_perl on
your server;

sudo a2enmod perl

And finally make sure your /etc/ocsinventory/ocsinventory.conf file has
correct DB info in it that you did int he web based DB setup, and
example of which is:

# Database options
# Replace localhost by hostname or ip of MySQL server, generally localhost
PerlSetEnv OCS_DB_HOST localhost
# Replace 3306 by port where running MySQL server, generally 3306
PerlSetEnv OCS_DB_PORT 3306
# Name of database
PerlSetEnv OCS_DB_NAME ocsweb
PerlSetEnv OCS_DB_LOCAL ocsweb
# User allowed to connect to database
PerlSetEnv OCS_DB_USER ocs
# Password for user
PerlSetVar OCS_DB_PWD ocspassword

Hope this helps. For any developers who catch this the
/var/www/ocsinventory directory was not created when I installed which
blocked uploads.

It's a virtual directory..

that being said it does not function.

which seems to suggest at least the mod_perl is being called but it

symlink. should have been obvious to me.. oops

If you go to http://www.megadeth.com/home.php in konqueror and click on
the RSS Icon down the bottom right status bar and subscribe to one or
all of the feeds and have them imported into Akregator they are bogus
links, for example the RSS2.0 link becomes:

http:www.megadeth.com/MegadethNews.xml

This shows up as a red crossed out icon with no text as it couldn't read
it, but the only thing wrong is the 2 extra slashes, one feed also gives
a slash at the end too.

Would be the correct link, in fact just editing the properties n this
fixes it fine.

I talked to the Webmaster as I thought it was a site issue, but he
couldn't find anything wrong so I checked in Firefox and it was fine, so
it must be either konq or akregator.. or something odd about the feed
that only they pick up. I asked him for details on the way they are
generated and he said:

"Hmmm very strange. This is what is in the code on the main page

http://www.megadeth.com/MegadethNews.xml";>

The feed goes out on Feedreader 3.11.

You can view source on the main page for any other info..."

So the html looks ok, unless it is Feedreader 3.11 doing something
funny.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Create bookmarks in Konqueror (Ver. 4.2.2 (KDE 4.2.2))
2. Load Bookmarks.xml in the import bookmarks option in Arora (0.8.0)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected bookmarks to load into bookmarks menu. Instead got Error:

Error when loading bookmarks on line 8, column 44:
Namespace prefix 'bookmark' not declared

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Fixed it. Arora can now import. Perhaps KDE 4.3.00 should "fix" the
bookmarks.xml file if it finds that line incorrect from upgrades to
Karmic or maybe it's in the actual browser?

[Bug 63716] Kubuntu Flash Drive Caption Incorrect Size

I've not found this bug, I have tried searching. When plugging in a
Samsung YP-U1 2Gb USB Flash player into Kubuntu 6.06.1 on a Sony Viao
PCG-FX701 the devices in KDE displays 8.4Gb Removable Drive. The drive
automounts properly etc. as sda1, and displays the proper size with 'df
-h' as 2Gb. But KDE labels it incorrectly.

This is obviously not a major problem, but new users may be confused and
believe they have more space than they actually do (Speaking of Moms,
Dads etc. not Geeks ;-) ). Right clicking on the icon and displaying
properties does display correct file usage and max size in KDE too
though. Where it is getting the 8.4Gb I am not sure.

If any extra info is required just let me know.

Ok it worked fine after a reboot, but now the keyboard and touchpad are
not working properly. It's like the machine has an IRQ conflict on the
keyboard. But the other odd thing is all my data I dumped onto the
Desktop is not showing up, not even able to get the run dialogue to
display in KDE, Alt-F2 is no go with the keyboard like this, but even
using a plugged in USB mouse and click Run command on the KMenu it just
doesn't come up on screen.

This is definitely a software issue. Booting with a Live CD all is fine
with the keyboard and mouse. I've tried taking out the synaptics driver
and the wacom drivers too and still nothing shows up on the desktop and
keyboard touchpad is unresponsive at best.

Apologies, the first crash stands but the keyboard/mouse and general
sluggishness is a totally broken ACPI problem fixed with acpi=off

The whole system is sluggish to the point the touchpad and keyboard are
almost non functioning. When booting into KDE it loads up to the point
of getting the background and taskbar then takes approx. 20mins to bring
up desktop icons and other taskbar items. Attaching a dmesg.

The model is a Sony Vaio PCG-FX701

The only solution to get the system functional was to use the acpi=off
grub option.

pdate that this is still an issue in Edgy. It shows up in the
description, although not in the KDE Icon caption anymore, which shows
up as a usbdrive. Using properties it does report the correct 2 GB size.

Hi,

Noticed this error just recently on Feisty and continues with Gutsy.
When I recieve an email to my yahoo mailbox (FYI from an Exchange
Server, not sure if relevent) and download it via Pop into KMail it will
be of  the format:

"Lastname, Firstname" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

In my case the Firstname contains an E-grave or a é. Inside the Yahoo
interface the Quote marks remain, when downloaded into KMail they are
stripped. Another use who has a only fully US-English characters in
their name the quotes remain, so it has to be the é causing the issue.

Problem is when they are stripped I end up with 2 people in the reply
addresses:

Firstname <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

It actually adds my current kmail default domain on the end of the
Lastname with an AT symbol.

If I try reply in Yahoo's web front end then there is no issue. If there
is anything else you need let me know (SMTP headers etc.)

I've upgraded from Fiesty to Gutsy (Not sure if this is relevent) and in
Kontact in the KMail part the create Task Icon which is identical to the
left Tasks sidebar button is of low quality. This is obviously only
cosmetic but I would have thought it used the same icon but something is
not right. I've attached a screenshot and rather crudely highlighted
both. The left one is good but the top right is not.

a new update was rolled out, so I'm going to try that. I'd like to avoid
installing the Nvidia one as it was like this in Fiesty, Gutsy fixed it,
I'm hoping not to take backwards steps...

Unfortunately today's update didn't seem to do it. I've attached my xorg
log. As a side note the NV driver seems to work in this version but I
don't get all of my colours as gradients are badly pixelated and blocky.

I've upgraded from Gutsy to Hardy. After reboot from upgrade the system
started X but it was interlaced lines of distortion. Mainly a white
screen with garbled black lines. I switched to console and enabled
"vesa" and restarted X, it was fine. When I logged in I received the
pop-up from restricted drivers, I enabled it again in case there was an
issue on first boot. No joy the same issue takes place.

I will attach the xorg log and xorg.conf in case it is of use.

Ok having restarted to switch back to Nvidia driver, grab the logfile
and restart X again, when back in vesa mode the top of the screen is
corrupted with a black bar approx 2cm in thickness with flecks of
Magenta through it, then also the screen is shifted approx 1/3 to the
right, with the rightmost portion of the screen appearing on the left
side now. On a full restart of the machine the issue is resolved,
restarting X does not solve it.

Attaching 3 files, my Xorg.conf then 2 logfiles, the one with
"Switch_Back_To_Vesa" is where it was booted up with Nvidia enabled then
edited the xorg.conf and switched to Vesa and got the corruption above.

I've upgraded from Gusty to Hardy in Kubuntu, when running Amarok with
no Analyser seleceted (ie. You get the "Click To Select Analyser") it
does not display it properly, it dislays the background underneath. Only
cycling through them gets it to come back. When I have selected one this
does not happen. I've attached a screenshot to show you. Any other info
needed please let me know.

On Hardy (it was working on Gutsy) it sometimes works for me, but most
times it can't download. then if it does download and I move a message
it loses the messages. I've lost a fair few messages, and it's not only
if I move them, one whole folder was emptied and all mail gone.

I have no idea where or what is casuing this but the config of kmail
Google account is correct.

I have my gmail account set up with cachedimap in kmail (Upgraded from
Gutsy -> Hardy). When moving mail between Inbox or Spam to another
folder the mial moves locally, on next resynch it disappears and the
mail is lost. I also get errors where it say the password is wrong and
pops the authentication window up. It is not wrong... I've lost a fair
amount of email with this. I don't know what details you need please let
me know.

(Sorry if this is a little bare of information but it's been frustrating
to lose all the mail I have and I'm not sure really what details you
need as the settings dialogue in kmail is set up correctly and had
worked fine in Gutsy, something updated has caused this error I believe.
Gmail WebInterface is fine, but unfortunatly the resynch also wipes it
from the online system too so it's unrecoverable)

[Bug 160985] Download of ISO via the Ubuntu Page opens Kate - Download stuck in file progress popup

I went to the ubuntu downlaod page to download the Server ISO. This
casued Konqueror to open Kate. I closed Kate to cancel it. This casue
the download to correctly stop but it stayed stuck in the Downloads
progress dialogue. I have the dialogue set to list all downlaods in one
window. I tried cancelling it but it had no effect. It was stuck saying
it had downloaded 5MB at a speed of 243 KB/s. I closed the download
progress dialogue and through out the day it would use it again for
other downloads the other ISO file was stil lthere. Cancelling it did
nothing.

Steps to reproduce:

- Open Konqueror, go to ubuntu.com and follow the wizard to pick an ISO in my 
case x86 server edition.
- Kate will open incorrectly (The download progress window will also open)
- Close Kate
- Download window stays running in backgroud, try cancelling the job and it 
will not cancel
- Only after exiting KDE did it go away (Although in my case it wsa a reboot of 
machine not sure if a log out and back in alon will fix it)
- You can then try after you have closed the dialogue to download other files 
from local or remote locations. The download window will obviously reopen and 
you will see the incomplete transfer still stuck in progress but not moving

Hi,

Apologies I thought I made it clear I have Gutsy 7.10, and my Kmail version is
kmail   4:3.5.7enterprise20070926-0ubuntu2

I ran the test as you suggested and I was not able to reproduce, so
maybe you are right and it is something the Exchange server has done.
What I did was look at the mail headers where it had my name in it. From
Yahoo I get

To: =?utf-8?q?F=C3=A9lim_Whiteley?=

But From the Exchange Server I get

To: =?iso-8859-1?Q?F=E9lim_Whiteley?=

So some sort of iso-8859-1 parsing error. The strange part of this
though is if I reply from Yahoo account directly to one of these emails
I don't have the issue. So Yahoo is doing something to parse it better
than what KMail is... Possibly a language pack is required ? I'm not
sure.

Ah Sorry Ace, I forgot one last step. You need to go into the web based
account and enable pop access. You I believe have to be in the old style
interface and then go into options. It's a long while since I've done it
but it's in there.

I've checked and for me it's in Options -> POP3 & Forwarding

Hopefully you can get to it.

LOL :-) I can assure you I am not, as far as I know Mail Plus doesn't
even exist anymore. I'm too cheap to pay for a "Free" mail account, I
really don't have it. I've heard though that some regions don't have
it.. .which seems hard to believe. But I have two friends and they have
enabled it also, I with Ireland .ie, one with UK .co.uk and the other
with Germany .de. So prehaps you have to use a European country link
from yahoo.com to get it. I've just read the main USA page and Mainland
Asia do not have it ?!

Anyway as you say we'll see if someone else can try it. I guess the only
real thing I would say, and I reckon it is as you said Exchange causing
the issue, is that KMail strips the " marks from the name, where they
get left behind in the web interface. So there is some extra check or
code inside Yahoo that doesn't get caught out by the non ascii
character.

The Cacti Package cacti_0.8.7a-2_all.deb does not contain the cli
directory in /usr/share/cacti/site nor are any of the scripts to be
found. Referance to them is there in the documentation but as of yet
it's not in the package. These are now part of the main 0.8.7 upstream
package and are really important. Hopefully they will be added ?

Followed official Gutsy upgrade procedure, ie. via Adept Manager.

Initially the Update Manager GUI crashed, I couldn't capture any logs
from this as it killed entire GUI. I had to restart it at which point it
completed correctly. Then everything appeared fine. The brightness does
change when I switch onto battery and is adjustable in the KDE Power
Manager, so the only issue seems to be the function keys themselves.

Other error has been the fact that Audio does not work, but this is
logged already at Bug ID 131133.

Update for this. I've booted and tested the function keys for LCD
brightness during the bootsplash and they work. Once X/KDE has loaded it
no longer works, so it appears to be something in KDE not allowing it
too work.
