[Bug 1872333] [NEW] MSFT0001:01 touchpad randomly does not work after boot (Lenovo Yoga S740)
Public bug reported: About 50% of the Ubuntu 20.04 Ubuntu boots end up so that the touchpad of my Lenovo Yoga S740 does not work (cursor does not move). External mouse works even then. After one or two reboots the touchpad starts working, and it works until the next boot, when it may not work again. This seems very similar to this Lenovo Yoga S940 touchpad problem: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=252711 Attached (i2c_error.txt) is the output of "dmesg |grep i2c" on a boot when the touchpad did not work. The main error message seems to be "i2c_designware i2c_designware.1: controller timed out". The name of the touchpad is "MSFT0001:01 06CB:CDB0 Touchpad" (from cat /proc/bus/input/devices) This bug report has been created on a boot where the touchpad does work. FYI, on Windows, the touchpad has always worked without problems. Thanks for the comments. Please find attached the requested file (sudo acpidump > acpi.log). However, "watch -n1 cat /proc/interrupts" did not increase when I used the Fn + F10/F11 (brightness) button. Contrast to that, the (working) volume hotkeys increased the interrupts. [Bug 561734] Re: quadrapassel doesn't start: Failed to initialise clutter: Unable to select the newly created GLX context
I solved the problem. Package libclutter-eglx-es20-1.0-0 was installed. I replaced that package with package libclutter-1.0-0 and now quadrapassel works. I installed Ubuntu Netbook Edition from daily image shortly after beta 2. I guess that libclutter-eglx-es20-1.0-0 was default package, but I checked now Ubuntu RC image and libclutter-1.0-0 will be installed default, so everything should be okay. @Linus, could you confirm that installing package libclutter-1.0-0 fixes this bug? -- quadrapassel doesn't start: Failed to initialise clutter: Unable to select the newly created GLX context https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/561734 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1051376] [NEW] Atheros AR9485 doesn't connect to a network although it's shown on the list
Public bug reported: When I installed Ubuntu 12.04, the wifi worked. After some updates during a couple of weeks it stopped working. I can see the wireless networks on the list of Network Manager, but when I try to connect them, NM can't finish the connection. If the network is secured by WPA, NM asks for a password. After I have entered the correct password, NM stays trying to connect to the network forever. If the network is open, unsecured, NM just seems to try to connect to the network but never finishes. I downloaded the daily desktop CD of 12.04 (15/8/2012) and I had the same problem with it. I also downloaded and installed the latest stable and unstable ath9k drivers, but they didn't help either. I want to just say once more: the wireless worked perfectly with a fesh install of 12.04. The strange thing is that I can connect via wifi to the network that my phone (Nokia N9 with JoikuSpot) creates. The icon of the network on the list in NM is a computer screen. I'm happy to do more debugging if needed and told what exactly should be done. Hi, I didn't realize that I should compile the bzr version – I just used ddd with default Maverick package, version 2.2.0-2. Is it still necessary do that? Unfortunately I haven't got any other computer now, so I can't test this with Lucid. Btw, I'm using now AWN and it's working well. [Bug 1872311] Re: Brightness hotkeys not working on Lenovo S740
Thanks for the suggestion. However, this does not make any difference. I ran also "watch -n1 cat /proc/interrupts", "acpi_listen" and "sudo showkey -s" and no reaction to brightness hotkeys whereas volume hotkeys work and that also shows up when running these commands. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1872311 Title: Brightness hotkeys not working on Lenovo S740 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1872311/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
