[Bug 244217] [NEW] Screen goes blank after grub and never comes to life again
Public bug reported: I've just updated to Intrepid alpha-1, 32bit. The booting starts and then my monitor goes to sleep. After say 15 secs the monitor comes to life again (green light indicator), but remains blank. The system seems to be working ok, just the screen is blank. It works ok when I load the kernel 2.6.24.19 or if I run the new one in recovery mode and choose for repair X-server. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Screen goes blank after grub and never comes to life again https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/244217 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 158065] Re: evince crash on attached pdf when printing
I wouldn't say dramatically. Evince seems to use a lot of memory (55 % on my system), but I don't know if it is normal. When I try to print, the cpu use reaches 100 %, the drops down and finally evince crashes. [Bug 150187] Re: [gutsy] [regression] Evince has very bad quality when printing pdf files.
Well, I have certainly noted some improvement. Documents that were completely messed up before now print reasonably and documents, where half of some pages didn't print at all (a different bug) now print correctly. However, not everything is quite all right. I attach a pdf- latex beamer presentation of mine. Everything prints ok, but the nonalphanumeric signs, like < (on slide 6), and different arrows (slide 7 and 9) and stars on slide 11. ** Attachment added: "the preview from evince" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10725926/output.pdf -- [gutsy] [regression] Evince has very bad quality when printing pdf files. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/150187 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 196277] Re: [hardy] keyboard layout switching shortcut doesn't work after reboot
Confirm a similar problem. Keyboard layout changes "work" by clicking, in the sense that USA changes to CZE and back. Unfortunately, this has no impact on anything else, I still can not type Czech letters. Then I have to go to keyboard preferences and change something, for example the keyboard type from "Dell" to "Dell USB". Then (1) the keyboard shortcut starts working (2) When the panel says "CZE", I can indeed type Czech letters. -- [hardy] keyboard layout switching shortcut doesn't work after reboot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/196277 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 96043] Re: Gnome panel: problems with changing the icons of launchers
It started to work ok two days ago. Before, the steps were quite easy, the icon change would not work for any "Custom application launcher". It also wasn't possible to add any "Custom application launcher" to the (upper) panel. Maybe an update has solved it. Maybe there was something wrong in my installation and I incidentally corrected it when looking for the source of the problem. [Bug 96043] Gnome panel: problems with changing the icons of launchers
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel I upgraded from Edgy to Feisty beta last night. I had a set of application launchers in my gnome-panel. They were still ok after the upgrade. Now I tried to change some icons using the GUI. Impossible to do, get a red cross and no way to get the icon back. I checked the launcher files in ~.gnome2/panel2.d/default/launchers/. It seems that the problem is in the language specification. Feisty adds icon[en_US]=blahblah. Before there was icon=BLEHBLEH, without the language specification. If I change it all back to icon=blahblah and kill the gnome-panel, everything is ok (the new icon is there).
