[Bug 804595] Re: Sony Vaio VPCS132FX/B Ambient Light sensor does not work
This is still a bug. The fix I posted appears to set backlighting on when keys are pressed (and switches it off after the set delay time). The ambient light sensor does not appear to work (ie. in a fully lit room, the keyboard still lights up). I am certain this is a kernel regression. [Bug 1079940] Re: [Sony VAIO VPCS137GG] Laptop suspend fails
HI Christopher, I tested with 3.7-rc6. I can boot but, again, Unity does not load (no launcher or top panel). Also my input devices do not work (no response to keyboard, mouse responds but freezes) so I cannot use the system. I closed the lid on the laptop and there is no response from the system. At least the previous mainline kernel build activated the suspend process. So I would say this version has regressed even further. I'd like to note that with each previous 2-3 releases of Ubunbtu I have installed, Suspend has been broken (and then fixed shortly after release) so I would say there must be a known issue that continues to regress with each release. [Bug 1079940] Re: [Sony VAIO VPCS137GG] Laptop suspend fails
No. I have always been able to suspend and resume. The last few releases has seen the issue appear at release time but it has been addressed shortly after. Frankly, Suspend/Resume is a critical function and it is disappointing that it continues to be an issue with each new release. I note that there are a number of other users, on different hardware, impacted by this issue also.
