[Bug 1654730] [NEW] Resuming from suspend, network manager can only see 1 WiFi network

2017-01-07 Thread mthurston
Public bug reported:

Hardware:
Dell XPS15 9550
Qualcomm Atheros QCA6174 802.11ac Wireless Network Adapter

Software:
Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS 4.4.0-58-generic
network-manager 1.2.4-0ubuntu0.16.04.1
network-manager-gnome 1.2.0-0ubuntu0.16.04.4

02:00.0 Network controller: Qualcomm Atheros QCA6174 802.11ac Wireless Network
Adapter (rev 32)
Subsystem: Bigfoot Networks, Inc. QCA6174 802.11ac Wireless Network
Adapter
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 136
Memory at dd20 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=2M]
Capabilities: [40] Power Management version 3
Capabilities: [50] MSI: Enable+ Count=8/8 Maskable+ 64bit-
Capabilities: [70] Express Endpoint, MSI 00

Capabilities: [180] L1 PM Substates
Kernel driver in use: ath10k_pci
Kernel modules: ath10k_pci

When resuming from suspend, network-manager only displays one random network
(random/different one each time).

Switching WiFi off and on does not fix it. iwlist scanning does not fix
it.

After running "sudo iwlist scanning", network manager works normally
again immediately.

[Bug 1647363] Re: Kubuntu installer crashes: TypeError StandardButton too many arguments

2017-01-07 Thread Bill Turner
This is the exact message I am getting installing Kubuntu 1704 64bit on
a VirtualBox VM ( and have been from the getgo). The 32bit version
behaves identically. 1610 installs just fine. As you can see from the
screen shot attached, it occurs immediately when the timezone is
selected. This is a daily update of Zesty as of this morning 7th Jan
2017 at about 9.00 am SAST. The live system runs OK, it is just ubiquity
that crashes. I have already submitted a bug report for a previous daily
build, but quite happy to do it again if needed.

I should have added that Ubuntu, Xubuntu and Lubuntu all install
perfectly (well...almost) into the very same VirtualBox VM. All 4
flavours (flavors?) are updated at more or less the same time every few
days - just tracking progress with the release.

[Bug 1654703] Re: /usr/share/doc/fig2dev/CHANGES.gz is a broken symlink

2017-01-07 Thread Hans Joachim Desserud
I looked a bit more into this issue and planned to forward the issue to
Debian, but I discovered that the symlink is only broken in Ubuntu.
Comparing the filelist for the package in Debian Sid [1] and Ubuntu
Zesty [2], we can see that /usr/share/doc/fig2dev/changelog.gz is
included on the Debian side, but is not present when the package is
rebuilt on Ubuntu.

I'm going out on a limb here, but it looks like the following line
dh_installchangelogs -k CHANGES
in the rules file [3] is responsible for creating the symlink. So maybe there's
a slight difference in this which is somehow causing this issue. I've taken the
liberty of marking this as also affecting debhelper, but feel free to reassign
if this is wrong or I'm missing something obvious.

[Bug 1652262] Re: subiquitycore exception in controller.run

2017-01-07 Thread Simon Eisenmann
Now that probert is updated in edge i could finally check why this
problem appears in the first place. So the wifi listener from probert
does not start when the cfg80211 kernel module is not loaded. This
module gets usually pulled in with whatever wifi driver module gets
loaded by other means. On Pine64 case where wifi is connected by sdio
that driver is not loaded automatically.

This issue can be closed, as soon as probert 0.0.14~16.04.1 is availble
in stable channel.

[Bug 1637081] Re: Xorg high load

2017-01-07 Thread Kanogin Alexandr
apport information

** Description changed:

Xorg after day work can begin to consume 100% of CPU time.
At this time, other applications are not seen to be consumed more than 5% of
the load.
After close other application, system performance is not restored.
This problem independent from the video card and used driver.
Reproduced on the GeForce 9500 GT (driver nouveau, and integrated with the
i5-3330), and GeForce 6800 drivers 304.131.

[Bug 1654754] [NEW] Wifi stopped working; ath10k_pci firmware crash in dmesg log

2017-01-07 Thread Shaun Crampton
Public bug reported:

Wifi worked fine for a while then stopped working. dmesg log has a
correlated firmware crash for the Wifi adapter's driver.

Disabling and reenabling Wifi in the network manager widget seemed to

forwarded it to the Debian maintainer.

The issue I had was there where two versions of VirtualBox on my host, and
the PC was in Secure Mode which wouldn't let me download third-party

[Bug 1654064] Re: Touchpad not working correctly

2017-01-07 Thread david
Hello Joseph Salisbury, I cannot test another kernel because I'm
currently using a module that solves a bluetooth bug which works only
with my current kernel, as you can see from here:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1653843
http://askubuntu.com/questions/867645/bluetooth-not-discovering-any-devices-on-ubuntu-16-04

This issue did not start happening after any update or upgrade, I did a
fresh install and the bug was there.

This bug has allready been adressed here:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1587913

At the end of the bug report there is a link to the site where the
module that solves the problem can be downloaded. The link to the module
download is:

https://github.com/vlasenko/hid-asus-dkms

I have tested it with an asus x556uak laptop with kaby lake and ubuntu

However if you desire any further information or output from my terminal I'll
gladly provide it.
Thank you for your time.

[Bug 1654769] [NEW] Airplane mode function key not working and led light working reversely

2017-01-07 Thread david
Public bug reported:

Hi all, I did a fresh install of ubuntu 16.04.1 on an asus x556uak laptop.
I noticed then that the airplane mode key function (fn+f2) doesn't work at all,
and also that the airplane mode led is lit all the time.

When I go to network settings and turn the airplane mode on the light
goes off, and when turned off the light goes on. The LED is working
reversely.

I have tried to see the output of dmesg | grep iwl but nothing appears
in the terminal.

It seems this bug has allready been adressed here:

At the end of the bug report there a link to download a module that
solves the problem.

I have tested it on my asus x556uak laptop and it works.

[Bug 1654770] [NEW] Connection smart watch through USB crashed

2017-01-07 Thread DUVAL Jean-Pierre
Public bug reported:

Each time I connect my Android 5.1 smart watch to my Ubuntu 16.04 LTS amd64
laptop with the USB 2.0 cable, nautilus is trying to mount the partition (as a
smart phone do) and it crashes with the message : "cache invalid retry".
The mount is automatic and it produces a popup each second with this message.

It seems to be the same bug as #1268015, but not for kernel 3.11.0 /
Ubuntu 13.10 but for kernel 4.4.0 / Ubuntu 14.10.

Linux unix-ubuntu-16.04-x86-64 4.4.0-57-generic #78-Ubuntu SMP Fri Dec 9
23:50:32 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

This is very annoying bug because :
1) I can't charge the battery of the watch from USB.
2) I can't transfer files from or to the watch.

Sometimes, I can read in a floating window the mount
mtp:://[usb:003,031], mtp:://[usb:003,054], mtp:://[usb:003,068], etc.
If it can help you.

I tried the following solution with no success:

sudo apt-get install libimobiledevice-utils
sudo idevicepair unpair
sudo idevicepair pair

The message is "no pair device".

[Bug 1654772] [NEW] Lost one screen from triple multi monitor radeon setup.

2017-01-07 Thread Ewano
Public bug reported:

I have been running a stock Ubuntu 16.04 LTS with three monitors from a
single Radeon HD 7770 card with no problems.

Description:Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS
Release:16.04

After not having used my system since approximately 20/12/2016, I used a
simple script on 03/01/2017 to run updates then shut down the system as
follows:

apt-get update
apt-get -y dist-upgrade
apt-get -y autoremove
shutdown -P now

Upon next start up, one of my screens remains dark in power saving mode.
This screen is connected using a displayport cable.

At boot the BIOS splash screen is shown on the affected screen. During
the boot process the screen is active until the login screen is
presented - at which point the screen enters power saving mode.

Using the print screen to capture an image of my desktop, I can see that
desktop is active and application windows are being created just fine.
The monitor screen in question remains in power saving mode, and is
unusable.

I tested with an alternate existing install on different hard drive
which had also not been updated for some time. I swapped over the hard
drive to this machine, let it boot through to a correctly functioning
desktop to verify that there was no hardware fault. Once I had verified
that the hardware functioned correctly, I again ran updates and rebooted
the machine. After update this installation also exhibited the fault.

I can only assume that a bug has been introduced during the updates
supplied between 20/12/2016 and 03/01/2017.

[Bug 1654774] [NEW] battery informatin displayed incorrectly

2017-01-07 Thread david
Public bug reported:

I did a fresh install of ubuntu 16.04.1 on an asus x556uak laptop and
noticed that when connected to AC and the battery is not charging the
system shows the battery icon as discharging , but when the battery has
discharged a little and when connected again it charges, then system
shows the battery icon as connected to AC and charging.

Also I've noticed that all though I have 2 38 Whr cells ubuntu is only
detecting one 38 Whr cell, as if the second one doesn't exist? But maybe
this is not a bug and it switches to secondary battery when the 1st one
is empty?

This is the output of `upower -d`

[Bug 1595096] Re: cannot create multi postfix instance by postmulti command

2017-01-07 Thread Scott Kitterman
I've verified this works on the latest Debian upload and documented the
Debian (and Ubuntu) differences here:

https://git.launchpad.net/postfix/tree/debian/README.Debian?h=stable/v3.1&id=3d459e01fb9bc7dde304d4c505850e7552cc9491

(that's shipped in the package once you get the right version)
