[Bug 1397654] Re: Adding a virtual wireless interface is broken

2015-01-25 Thread Guest
Even when I add 'net.ifnames=0' and 'biosdevname=0' to /etc/default/grub:
> cat /etc/default/grub
[snip]
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="net.ifnames=0 biosdevname=0"
[snip]

and update-grub + reboot, udev still renames my interfaces when adding
new virtual wifi interfaces (see first post for instructions).

In my opinion, this behaviour is a serious bug.
When I tell udev not to touch my network interfaces (with net.ifnames=0 - or is
there another option?),
it has to honour my decision.

My system is:
> cat /etc/lsb-release
DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
DISTRIB_RELEASE=14.04
DISTRIB_CODENAME=trusty
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS"

[Bug 1309785] Re: blurry font as document is longer than one page and scroll bars appear

I can confirm that this bug also affect the bluefish-editor. I am on
Ubuntu 14.04 and I am attaching two screenshots before and after
bluefish get blurred! Even after I used the legacy scrollbar.

[Bug 1386452] Re: Blender crashes when clicking options in save/export

2015-01-25 Thread mathojojo
I have the same problem here using amd gpu and cpu.

I tried with free drivers and catalyst... but nothing changed. Blender
crashes everytime I need to use a Blender dialog.

Like said by @HAYASHI mizuki, launching blender with the debug option
(-d) completly kills the bug. Weird !

[Bug 1384342] Re: kernel messages intel_crtc_wait_for_pending_flips correlate to compiz hang

2015-01-25 Thread Rocko
@jondee: those are the intel pstate governors. You should be able to
confirm this using the cpufreq-info command.

 If you disable intel pstate and reboot you should get the option of
using the other governors (like ondemand) - see
http://askubuntu.com/questions/501840/ubuntu-14-04-used-too-much-
processor-after-latest-updatest, except you want to use
intel_pstate=disable instead of intel_pstate=enable.

I recommend sticking with intel pstate, though, as it appears to use
less power and give better performance. That's why they developed it.

[Bug 1414417] [NEW] [xorg-edgers] [346.35] nvidia-persistenced journalctl errors

2015-01-25 Thread dino99
Public bug reported:

vivid i386 booted with systemd 218-5ubuntu2, nvidia 346.35 & vivid
genuine xorg/xserver

346.35 dependencies are set to conflict with nvidia-persistenced

/usr/share/doc/nvidia-346/html/nvidia-persistenced.html tell how to install it,
but it fails into a terminal:
oem@u32:~$ % nvidia-persistenced
bash: fg: %: no such job
http://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/346.35/README/nvidia-persistenced.html

and journalctl log:
janv. 25 08:04:31 u32 kernel: NVRM: loading NVIDIA UNIX x86 Kernel Module
346.35  Sat Jan 10 20:33:56 PST 2015

So some package(s) seems needing update; maybe needs to open xorg,
xserver and/or systemd affected package(s) too.

However, when I looked at the changeling, it has this order:

cryptote (0.5.390-1ubuntu3) vivid; urgency=low (the one you
inspected last time in my ppa)
  * Fixing compilation errors in secmem.h by explicitly naming parent class
 -- Qichang Liang   Thu, 25 Dec 2014

cryptote (0.5.390-1ubuntu2) lucid; urgency=medium

cryptote (0.5.390-1ubuntu1) lucid; urgency=medium
  * First public upstream beta release 0.5.390
 -- Timo Bingmann   Mon,  3 Aug 2009 23:03:03 +0200

cryptote (0.0.366-1ubuntu1) lucid; urgency=medium
  * Upstream beta release 0.0.366
 -- Timo Bingmann   Mon,  9 Feb 2009 13:59:15 +

cryptote (0.0.330-1ubuntu1) lucid; urgency=low
  * Upstream beta release 0.0.330
 -- Timo Bingmann   Tue, 29 Jul 2008 19:39:15 +

cryptote (0.0.259-1ubuntu1) lucid; urgency=low
  * Upstream beta release 0.0.259
 -- Timo Bingmann   Tue, 22 Jul 2008 17:20:25 +0200

Though none of the previous versions were publicly released.

So for the current version, should I use:

cryptote (0.5.390-0ubuntu3)

or

cryptote (0.5.390-0ubuntu1)

I am very confused

I am going to look into that. I think there is only one binary
package, so there should not be build-indep stuff.

that package to debian, please remove it.

Here is another problem: I want to get cryptote into 15.04 as soon as
possible, but I don't rule out uploading that package in the future.
So what should I do with debian/menu?

And alternatively, do you have power to sponsor new Debian packages?

Thanks!

Qichang

[Bug 518056] Re: cedilla appears as accented c (ć instead of ç) when typing 'c

2015-01-25 Thread Gunnar Hjalmarsson
Hi Calvo,

>From the compose.txt file you mention, it looks like you are on the
right track. Can you please test it by installing the ibus-table-compose
package from the Ubuntu archive. By doing so, the file /usr/share/ibus-
table/tables/compose.db will be installed, and I think that's the binary
version of compose.txt.

Hi Serge,

Yep, updating to lxcfs 0.4, killing lxcfs, then a 'sudo chown -R james:

allowed me to start the non-priv container.

[Bug 518056] Re: cedilla appears as accented c (ć instead of ç) when typing 'c

2015-01-25 Thread Gunnar Hjalmarsson
Well, considering that '+c seems to be converted to ć via compose.txt,
it would probably not help, but to test it I suppose we would need to
rebuild ibus-table-others with a modified compose.txt.

[Bug 1414122] Re: adt-run arguments are order dependent

2015-01-25 Thread Martin Pitt
As you can run several tests/packages with adt-run, *all* arguments that
specify tests are order dependent. It's been like that since day 1, and
I don't want to break backwards compatibility by disallowing to run more
than one package now.

> the documentation does not state they must be in a certain order

It does:

   --click-source clicksrc
  Path to click source tree for subsequent --click package.

   --click clickpkg
[]
   Run click package tests from the preceeding --click-source.
[...]

[Bug 1414435] [NEW] spamassassin doesn't honor configuration settings

2015-01-25 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

spamassassin together with amavis doesn't honor config settings, set
either in /etc/spamassassin/local.cf, or in
/var/lib/amavis/.spamassassin/user_prefs

config settings in either of these files is not taken into account,
like:

shortcircuit BAYES_99spam
score BAYES_999 1.0

see also
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2260356&p=13211475

the expectation is that if one adds a config setting and restarts spamassassin
and/or amavis, the setting should take effect. currently it doesn't

[Bug 1413927] Re: login name=systemd cgroup is not owned by user

2015-01-25 Thread Martin Pitt
> Right so the bug her eis that your session-c2.scope was created
without giving you ownership of the directory

Indeed this hasn't previously been done for the "systemd" controller; it
didn't seem necessary with previous LXC versions, but apparently is now.
Chowning the

> and the tasks and cgroup.procs files.

No, I am not going to own those to the user. This would be a (small)
privilege escalation bug, as the user could then move processes from a
less privileged session (like from ssh) to a more privileged one (like a
local desktop session). This also doesn't seem to be necessary, neither
for upstart nor systemd containers.

** Changed in: systemd (Ubuntu)
 Assignee: (unassigned) => Martin Pitt (pitti)

** Description changed:

  When a user logs in, systemd-logind should create cgroups for the user,
  with the directory (i.e. /user.slice/user-1000.slice/session-c2.scope)
- and the tasks and cgroup.procs files (but no othes) owned by the user.
- This is no longer hapening for the name=systemd cgroup. This prevents
- containers from starting. (If lxc were to simply not create/use that
- controller, then it would prevent system in the container from using
- it).

+ cgroup. This prevents containers from starting. (If lxc were to simply
+ not create/use that controller, then it would prevent system in the
+ container from using it).

  I wanted to test the new lxc with lxcfs. A system container (with
  upstart or systemd) works perfectly well now (great!), but user
  containers regressed:

  $ lxc-create -n v1 -t download -- -d ubuntu -r vivid -a amd64
  $ lxc-start -n v1  -F
  lxc-start: cgmanager.c: lxc_cgmanager_enter: 694 call to

  lxc-start: start.c: __lxc_start: 1099 failed to spawn 'v1'
  lxc-start: lxc_start.c: main: 345 The container failed to start.

  My host is running systemd, but cgmanager is running (i. e. it's not bug
  1400394, I enabled cgmanager.service).

[Bug 1414440] [NEW] [SATELLITE L750, Conexant CX20585, Speaker, Internal] speaker fails after a while; headphone jack still working

2015-01-25 Thread Josip Bakić
Public bug reported:

Sound works fine after restart, but then suddenly the speakers go
silent. The headphone jack is still giving out sound, though. The
problem never occurred before, I first noticed it only after a recent
Linux kernel upgrade, so I suspect it may be related.

Having notebook with intel HD4000 and GTX660M.

After installing nvidia proprietary with

Can confirm with 14.04/14.10/15.04, Thinkpad X121e, Intel WiFi 7260 N.

Network is "avaible" after suspend but often fails to associate and to
therefore to connect. This problem does _NOT_ exist with Debian/testing
or Fedora 21.

2015-01-25 Thread Dennis-martin-herbers
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1252121 ***

Can confirm using "pm-suspend" works ALWAYS, while Suspend from Unity
menu is broken.
