Troy, I thank you. I renamed /etc/squirrelmail/config.pgp, re-ran conf.pl and everything is working fine now. [SM-USERS] Increaseing file attachment size
Hi Im at a loss as to what to do next. I have read all the FAQ and Squirrel user emails, but I still cant get this to work. I have installed SM 1.4.0 and wanted to increase the upload limit from 2M to 5M, but have had no success. I am using php version 4.2.3 and have set the php.ini entries as follows: max_execution_time 120 memory_limit 20M post_max_size 8M upload_max_filesize 5M With all the testing we have done, we have only been able to attach a files size of up to 3.5M as the largest file size attachment. Any ideas would be helpful. Regards Peter Burgess

Anthony, The description of your problem sounds like the Maildir/ doesn't exist for the user you're trying to log in as. [SM-USERS] Show All/Toggle All weirdness. . .
Title: Show All/Toggle All weirdness. . . All, I'm wondering if any of you have seen this before, and if so, how you have dealt with this. Lets say there are more than the number of messages in your INBOX than you allow to be shown at one time. In my particular case, there are 20 messages, and it will show 15 by default. I then click on Show All, and then Toggle All, and then deselect some messages that I want to save. What this does is delete the messages that I want to delete, however, it doesn't update some variable in the display. In other words, there is the number of messages that I want to save, x, and the top x messages from the full list of messages are the ones that are displayed(not necessarily the ones that I want to save) after I press the delete button. I guess I could always modify it on my own for my own needs but I just don't want to reinvent the wheel if you know what I mean. Re: [SM-USERS] Fatal error with Webcalendar plugin
Hey I having the same problem. Did you every get this working? I read the INSTALL but I guess I just don't see it. I: reinstalled php with PEAR created the db (in postgresql) modified ./includes/config.php #- db info $db_type = "postgresql"; $db_host = "localhost"; $db_login = ""; $db_password = ""; $db_database = "webcalendar"; This works great from a psql command. ? pg_hda.conf is set to allow to login from localhost ( DB user shouldn't matter ) if psql connects webcalendar should. Can anyone provide some insight? > I went through the instructions included with the plugin, the database > was setup and created like expected. RE: [SM-USERS] vlogin question
Paul, I would love to have it, a part of vlogin makes sense due to the virtual hosting nature of it and the other functionality. The reason for this is that we run a hosting business that is heavily based on a user control panel for resellers. Each reseller can then turn on and off certin "virtual domains" like features that are mapped to unix accounts. I have done the work with lots of things like Apache redirects, SpamAssassin, Stats processing, and even backup service, now we can make webmail more of a subscription based service. Let me know how I can help you. Re: [SM-USERS] squirrelmail install questions
I'm using Apache 2.046,PHP 4.3.2 and UW-IMAP on a FreeBSD 4.6 server. Apache modules i use includes ssl, deflate I use the 1.4.1-CVS code which as of right now runs nice. I also have it up and running on a Solaris 9 server ( for fun.. ) So far everything seems to work fine for me. I however have few users and the load is rather low.. Bugwise i cannot say that i have seen more bugs using Apache2 with a late PHP than with Apache 1.3.. If you are going to test it use Apache 2.046 and PHP 4.3.2.. I think i read somewhere that these 2 versions are almost the first ones that you could expect to work together.. And.. you should probably not use it in production unless you have patient and understanding users..;-) /SqM > Thanks hope you dont mind my asking a few more specifics... > > I was just looking at > http://www.squirrelmail.org/wiki/SquirrelMailRequirements > > I saw > "Note: While Apache2 is available (and being shipped by default with Red > Hat Linux) the SquirrelMail > development team does not recommend the use of > Apache2 with SquirrelMail at this time. Re: [SM-USERS] install plugin
> please help me setup plugin for squirrelmail > i can't run conf.pl from web browser. assuming you followed all the other directions for installing the plugin and have unpacked it and placed it in the plugins directory, this is how you can avoid using conf.pl to enable it using FTP: 1. get a copy of the file config/config.php 2. edit that file, looking for a line such as $plugins[0] = 'squirrelspell'; note that the plugin name (in this case, squirrelspell) does not matter. if you find a line like this, jump to step 5 3. if you do not find any such lines, look for a line such as: $theme_css = ''; 4. above that line, insert this: $plugins[0] = 'plugin_name'; where "plugin_name" is the *exact* same as the directory where you unpacked the plugin in the plugins directory. you're done (skip step 5) 5. find the last line that looks like the line you found in step 2, and add a new one below it such as: $plugin[11] = 'plugin_name'; where "plugin_name" is the *exact* same as the directory where you unpacked the plugin in the plugins directory. make sure that the number (in this example, 11) is correct. --- This SF.Net email sponsored by: Free pre-built ASP.NET sites including Data Reports, E-commerce, Portals, and Forums are available now. RE: [SM-USERS] vlogin question
Shannon, Here it is. From the README file: You may "turn off" an entire domain and disallow any users the ability to log in using that domain by putting the following entry into the array for the desired domain (see the sample config.php file for an example): '###LOCKED OUT###' => 'locked_out.php' If you use this functionality, you may want to edit the file "locked_out.php" to customize the message that will be seen when someone attempts to log in to that domain. You may change the name of the file being displayed if, for example, you want to lock out more than one domain but show different messages for each one. Note that there are a lot of other changes to the plugin - I was coincidentally about ready to release it... let me know if you have any problems or questions. - Paul > Paul, I would love to have it, a part of vlogin makes sense due to the > virtual hosting nature of it and the other functionality. RE: [SM-USERS] vlogin question
Hey Paul, thanks for your attention, truly! A simple config file that vlogin, or squirrelmail would consult, that says "These domains are allowed to login" when a user put in [EMAIL PROTECTED] and domain.com is not in the file then they are not allowed would be perfect! Yes, my CP is mostly php based, with most backend stuff being Perl (File access, passwords, etc), database, gui, etc being PHP, it is nice, our hosting is at battcave.com if you care to check it out. I would LOVE to test it, any help I can be! Re: [SM-USERS] squirrelmail install questions
Thanks hope you dont mind my asking a few more specifics... I was just looking at http://www.squirrelmail.org/wiki/SquirrelMailRequirements I saw "Note: While Apache2 is available (and being shipped by default with Red Hat Linux) the SquirrelMail development team does not recommend the use of Apache2 with SquirrelMail at this time. " any pointers to what these issues are? do these issues still exist with current version of SM 1.4.0 also re php >=4.3.0 and SM I saw: " There have been issues with PHP 4.3.0 and earlier versions of SquirrelMail If you have difficulty loading/restoring user preferences when using one of these versions of SquirrelMail with PHP 4.3.0, please upgrade to the latest version ( >= 1.2.11, >= 1.4.0 final). any other known issue with current release of php 4.3.2...if I use the latest stable release of SM? I'd like to go ahead and upgrade php while I'm at it because of security bug fixes incorporated since 4.2.2 [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > It is running apache 2.0.4 and php 4.2.2..
