Hmm. Looks okay here. Are you using the View As HTML plugin or do you
have Show HTML Version by Default turned on?

Actually, I didn't. That's probably what it was. I made that switch, and
it changed to HTML.

Is there any way to make the change the default systemwide? I checked the
configure script, but didn't see anything.

You could add it to the default_pref file in your data directory. That
should work for most people.

It is part of the pear extension for PHP... if you're using a package
from your distribution (like .RPMs or .DEBs) look for the PEAR
package... if you're using source, make sure you include the pear
options.

[SM-USERS] Message Highlighting fix for 1.4.0

2003-06-03 Thread Billy Newsom
I guess unless there is another mailing list for developers, not many people
know about this. Message highlighting is broken in the SquirrelMail 1.4.0
release. Certain things won't highlight, like things using the FROM: header
as a trigger.

Anyway, I fixed my setup using an updated file from CVS. I don't know how to
run CVS the normal way (although I use cvsup on a UNIX box, I still don't know
how to really do interesting things), it seems logical to me to merely
download a file from a browser as need be in this case. It turns out one file
needs to be updated.

I browsed here first
http://cvs.sf.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/squirrelmail/squirrelmail/

And I was led to this file, eventually:
http://cvs.sf.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/squirrelmail/squirrelmail/functions/mailbox_display.php?rev=1.321.2.4&only_with_tag=SM-1_4-STABLE&content-type=text/vnd.viewcvs-markup

That is the Revision 1.321.2.4 of functions/mailbox_display.php.
SM-1.4.0 ships with Revision 1.321.

I tried at least one later Revision (1.321.2.5), and it broke my mail display.

I was even successful in adding in the msg_flags plugin to this new file.

Thanks to indiri69 who supposedly fixed this two months ago!

Billy

[EMAIL PROTECTED], yes there is... it's on the
same page you probably found out about this list on.

As for the message highlighting, it was fixed about a week or two
after 1.4.0 was released... so yes... using the cvs file as you
described was the most ideal way to update it... There are daily
snapshots posted on the download download page, along with
instructions on how to grab snapshots of cvs as well for each branch.

I corresponded a while back with someone who was having this problem
with the quicksave plugin. Just as with you, it was for IE5 users only,
and
when I reworked the plugin code, I found that there was no good way to
fix
the problem... and unfortunately, we just wrote it off as an IE5
problem.

If you're using the quicksave plugin and need to support IE5, I suggest
you
disable quicksave.

Alternatively, I would be happy to work with you to write a modification
of quicksave that turns itself off when IE5 is being used.

Note that I *do* have IE5 users and I have never had any problem
reports, so there's probably another factor in there somewhere, but heck
if I know what that is

RE: [SM-USERS] Unable to log-in

2003-06-03 Thread p dont think
Sorry for the delay. Again, please try not to send HTML-formatted email
to the mailing list. Thanks.

Again, should Eudora have nothing to do with SM. Eudora is a client
that you are running on your own machine at home; SM is a client
interface that is running on the server. SM uses IMAP for client
authentication and accessing mail on your server, and either sendmail or
SMTP for sending mail. Please re-read the installation documentation
and the squirrelmail.org documentation and make sure you have configured
everything correctly (using the configuration script, preferably). If
you still have problems, please post detailed error messages and any
other relevant information.

Thanks,

  paul

By turning off Eudora, I simply switched the program on and off.  I
didn't uninstall it.   I'm assuming that Eudora uses sendmail, while
Squirrelmail uses IMAP or does it, too, use sendmail.

dunno about your apache settings, but have you tried the vlogin plugin?
might be a work around until you get apache all figured out...?

only if users have never logged in before. if they have, you'll need to
write a quick script that can add the desired settings to each .pref

If you have your data directory outside of your htdocs tree (not in the
SquirrelMail directory, which is advisable), make sure NOT to use
relative paths when specifying it in conf.pl; please use the full
absolute path

Have you tried that?

is there a possibility that the values in the httpd.conf for

  php_admin_value upload_tmp_dir
  php_admin_value open_basedir
should be set?

my open_basedir for the virtualhost which runs squirrel is the
documentroot and the upload_tmp_dir is not specified...

[SM-USERS] Allowed memory

2003-06-03 Thread Vincent Briet
Hi,

I use version 1.2.10,
While I'm trying to forward a 5mo message I get this error :

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to
allocate 4097 bytes) in ./mail/functions/imap_general.php on line 82

I tried to increase post_max_size and memory_limit but it's always the same.

How could I fix it ?

Vincent.

I gave up and changed the name of the server to domain.com. So it works
fine now, i.e. no name, just the domain name as name.

[SM-USERS] imap folders with ISO-8859-2 encoding

2003-06-03 Thread Martin Sitar
Hi all squirrelmail users and developers.

Past few days I try to find an answer, how to make imap folders created with
Squirrel in Czech - ISO-8859-2 encoding containing special chars like "cstzr"
with hook readable in email clients like Kmail and Outlook Express. The same
problem contrariwise - folder made in Kmail or Outlook Express are
unreadable in Squirrel.
Should somebody make some compatibility changes in
functions/imap_utf7_local.php to have imap folder with ISO-8859-2 encoding
visible properly in all email clients ?

Thanks Martin
