https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426513 --- Comment #5 from Fred Brigham --- Thanks, that works fine. The problem was that I was trying to drop the thumbnail I was moving into a space between other thumbnails. This results in a File conflict error message "Files or folders with the same name already exist in the target folder". If I then select "Rename automatically" a copy of the file is produced in addition to the original. I continued experimenting and discovered that the answer is to drop the thumbnail to be moved directly on top of another thumbnail. [kdevelop] [Bug 426462] KDE project provider isn't available
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426462 --- Comment #5 from Francis Herne --- Yes, reasonably so -- project provider plugins are quite simple and don't need much knowledge of the rest of the codebase. There's a tutorial on how to build KDevelop using kdesrc-build here: https://community.kde.org/index.php?title=KDevelop/HowToCompile_v5 Alternatively, you can install the various build dependencies (even the git version should be fine with the dep versions in most distros) and compile/install as any other CMake project. Do note that QT_PLUGIN_PATH must be set before running KDevelop if you install to /usr/local or some other non-standard path. Since I see you're using Manjaro, this is the PKGBUILD I use to build locally; you'd need to change _repo at least: http://www.flherne.uk/files/PKGBUILD If any other questions, ask in the #kdevelop IRC channel and wait a while if you don't get an answer immediately -- several devs are in it but not watching IRC all the time. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[krita] [Bug 426523] New: Bug with the outline selection tool for advanced selection technique
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426523 Bug ID: 426523 Summary: Bug with the outline selection tool for advanced selection technique Product: krita Version: unspecified Platform: unspecified OS: All Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Tools/Selection Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: tgdev...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY 1) This bug is about the outline selection tool. But first, I want to recall that using the polyline tool, it's still not possible to switch to the outline selection using modifier keys while drawing the perimeter of the selection area. And changing the parameters of this selection tool isn't possible in the settings menu. Alright. So the bug manifests as follows : with a first selection area active, it's impossible to add a new one should you switch to the polyline tool as you draw the new perimeter of the additional selection area. Because doing so results in an unexpected behavior which either cancels all the selection areas, or cancels the new perimeter you draw. The only way so far to add multiple selection areas is to avoid the use of the CTRL modifier key, meaning that you can't switch to the polyline tool after your first selection area is done STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Create a selection area with the outline selection tool 2. Try to build a new selection area to add, but make sure you hold CTRL key to try switching to the polyline tool as you draw it. OBSERVED RESULT The new area refuses to be added/subtracted or all your selections areas are dismissed. So CTRL modifier key = cancellation for add/subtract use cases. Not good. EXPECTED RESULT The new area should be added/subtracted depending on the modifier key you held before releasing your pen/mouse, or before committing your selection area. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=316890 flindeb...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||flindeb...@gmail.com --- Comment #13 from flindeb...@gmail.com --- It looks like this is still around. I looked into KDirWatch and it seems it only has support for file changes (i.e. the "dirty" signal), so it is impossible to know when the file is closed for writing (lua/xe/pdflatex all seem to write multiple chunks and close the file now and then as well). Wouldn't it work if okular shows a warning when the pdf-file changes, and waits with updating the graphical layout until it has successfully loaded the new pdf-file? I mean a warning along the lines of in big red letters "The current file is corrupt, showing the last known good state from %time". This behavior should only be the default for "greedy"-mode as well I think, since those of us who would benefit from it are probably all using greedy anyhow and it could, as previously stated, cause some confusion that the pdf shown is not the exact version on the disk at that moment. I'm currently working around this with a last `cp file.pdf file-view.pdf` in my makefiles, so a fix to this issue is, at least for me, a matter of convenience. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[Plasma Workspace Wallpapers] [Bug 426529] New: Feature Request: Configure Desktop - Additional "Oder" Option For "Slideshow"
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426529 Bug ID: 426529 Summary: Feature Request: Configure Desktop - Additional "Oder" Option For "Slideshow" Product: Plasma Workspace Wallpapers Version: 5.19.5 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: veritas.scientia.volun...@outlook.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Hello! I would like to kindly make a request to add an additional option to arrange the order of the wallpapers. I always use a few different folders for my wallpapers expecting to be able to see them arranged in the order I intent (by folder and in alphabetical order) but the option is not available in the plasma default wallpaper "app" nor in any other that is available in the "new plugins" section. I tried "Vallpaper", it actually reads the wallpapers "by folder" but it gets the images randomly and apparently it doesn't "remember" in which image it was after turning the PC off, so every time you start a new session, it just starts over, in a few words, it doesn't do what I would like it to do. Also, the only wallpaper "app" that I like until now is the one that comes by default in Plasma but there's just that feature "missing", so I would like to please ask you, if it is possible and it doesn't cause any inconvenient trouble for you, if you could please add an "Order" option called something like "By Folder" in which it reads the folders and images in alphabetical order and, like it does now, it remembers where it stopped, so my desktop shows the wallpaper where I "left" before turning off the PC. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set Wallpapers order to "A - Z" OBSERVED RESULT It "plays" the wallpapers in "alphabetical order" as if all of them were in the exact same folder but not actually in alphabetical order, or numerical order in fact, it seems to have a limit of numerical names below 1000 and it arranges files with a number >= 1000 apparently only considering the hundreds portion of the name. EXPECTED RESULT To be able to read from folders in alphabetical order and "play" the wallpapers in alphabetical order too. Remember where it "stopped" after starting a new session. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: 5.8.8-arch1-1 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.19.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.74.0 Qt Version: 5.15.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION THANKS IN ADVANCE! :D HAVE A GREAT DAY -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[dolphin] [Bug 426528] New: Changing upper/lowercase on renaming a folder on a CIFS share triggers multiple bugs
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426528 Bug ID: 426528 Summary: Changing upper/lowercase on renaming a folder on a CIFS share triggers multiple bugs Product: dolphin Version: 20.04.3 Platform: Neon Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: ae@seven.systems CC: kfm-de...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Changing the name of a folder on a CIFS share mounted from a macOS server (via an actual mount, not via smbfs:// or similar), and ONLY changing the CASING of the name (say, Foobar -> foobar) brings up an avalanche of odd behaviours: 1) Warning dialog ("This action will overwrite the destination") 2) When "Cancel" is clicked, the folder has apparently been renamed (case changed) 3) Trying to rename the folder again does absolutely nothing (left-clicking the selected folder or choosing Right-Click -> "Rename" doesn't bring up any kind of dialog) 4) When navigating to a different containing folder and then back, the case is suddenly reverted to before the rename operation. (I guess it has never been actually renamed, but only the DISPLAYED name has been updated after the failed rename operation).
