As Joost pointed out the FEN is indeed illegal, due to the castling. If 
this part is removed all engines run fine. I guess that xboard removes 
this part from the FEN before calling the engine (or probably it's 
polyglot?) Probably, those engines I mentioned as working just removed 
the offending part themselves and just ignored it.

Now, the funny question arises: how did you get the broken FEN?
