Hi Alexander
Thanks for that. I tried this and error dialog boxes come up. Here is
one of the error messages -
bad directory "/Applications/Scid.app/Contents/Resources/bin/books"
bad directory "/Applications/Scid.app/Contents/Resources/bin/books"
while executing
"tk_chooseDirectory -initialdir $scidBooksDir -mustexist 1"
(procedure "setBooksDir" line 3)
invoked from within
"setBooksDir"
(menu invoke)
There is no way to choose a directory.
This is a new software installation and I haven't stored any books or
Bases yet.
many thanks
Danny

Hi!
I have just downloaded the mac version (3.7.3, 30.5mb). When I open
the application up, two dialog boxes appears saying - 'Bases
directory not found' and 'Books directory not found'. When I skip
these dialog boxes, everything is OK and opens up fine. Is there
anyway to stop this from happening? After installing into the
applications folder, I did move the file to another location, which
I wish I didn't now. I have tried deleting/reinstalling the
software, but the warning dialog boxes are still there.
Go to Options / Book Directory and Options / Bases Directory and
point them to the dir where you stored your opening books (in
polyglot/fruit format) and the scid-DB's for tactical training.
These dirs may even be empty but they should point to a valid
directory.
(BTW: This is not a MAC specific issue but a general one.)
