Hi all, can anyone help me. I'm getting
mega frustrated by trying to get a Linksys WMP11 wireless Lan connection to
work.
I've installed the 7.3 rpms from the http://prism2.unixguru.raleigh.nc.us/ website, and they seemed to load OK. I can start the wlan0 OK during boot-up, or by typing /etc/init.d/wlan start, and the flashing light on the WMP comes on continuously. However, I can't make contact with the router, 192.168.1.1. I think I've tried everything, but am obviously missing something. My wireless LAN works OK on Windows XP, and the various control panel reports tell me my machine is 192.168.1.100 and MAC is 00-06-25-A7-5C-87 on an infrastructure network, using IRQ 11 channel #6 and my router is 192.168.1.1. I do.... modprobe prism2_pci wlanctl-ng wlan0 lnxreq_ifstate ifstate=enable wlanctl-ng wlan0 lnxreq_autojoin ssid=linksys authtype=opensystem route add default gw 192.168.1.1 wlan0 I get success reports after the 2 wlanctl-ng commands.... This all looks Ok to me.... please can you offer any suggestions. I'd be very appreciative. Thanks if you can help. |
