I can't say it'll solve your problems but have you tried using the
gdk-pixbuf*-0.14.0-8 rpm's from redhat 7.3?  Sounds like jumping versions
all the way up to 0.19, and using a non-redhat rpm, just complicates things
unnecessarily....
