I don't warrant there will be no problems. But I've had none to date
with:

rpm -ivh <file> --replacefiles

rpm -Uvh <file> --replacefiles

There's also one for '--replacepkgs' that should work OK for some
things. But I never used that particular switch and can't even offer my
own anecdotal experiences.
