My gripe is his follow up post that doesn't reference the original. Which I remember now that you shame me into looking :) Anyway, most of those helper modules from ipchains either aren't needed with iptables (ie RH7.2/3), or just haven't been ported. Trying to use them just will not work, as iptables/netfilter is a major rewrite. I am fairly sure that most vpn related protocols are directly supported. I pumped 'gre iptables' into google, and got one hit: http://www.geocrawler.com/lists/3/Debian-Linux/200/0/8304716/ I didn't read it very closely, but I think the provided answer is on track at least partially. netfilter.samba.org is probably the best place to look. Or more googling ...
