Hey Chet,
It's the original response Ed here to avoid confusion.

The other Ed's reponse is quite valid - a BIOS upgrade might help.

BUT:

It seems you are very unfamiliar with how to do that (no, it's not through
windows usually, you're going to have to know a bit of DOS and have a DOS
boot floppy). And I can tell from 6 years experience that you must have
EXACTLY the right BIOS. A power failure or even a glitch will RUIN your
board if it is not done properly (The other Ed correctly warned you of
this). I myself have killed 2 boards using BIOS images directly from the
distributors they ASSURED me were correct. They were replaced under warranty
(it was after all their fault), but I can't stress enough that you might
only want to do this if my original point doesn't help. True, I've upgraded
numerous boards successfully, but accidents do happen. You have been warned.

I urge you to try turning off all power saving stuff first in the BIOS and
see what this does before trying it.

It's a lot safer.

Regards,
Ed.

Hope you get this before you blow your board.
