I'd like to know the answer to this one too.  RPM packages are most of the
time relocatable, right?  If that's the case, you should be able to use 
the --relocate option with the 'rpm' command.  See the man page for more 
information.  

Would this work?  Again, I'd definitely like to know the answer to that.
I never tried relocating a GCC package.
