I'm fairly certain the 7500 won't even work in 2D with the XFree
version that comes with Red Hat 7.2. I didn't even try - it was the 3D
support that I wanted so I installed XFree 4.2, turned off the
computer and installed the 7500, and then turned it back on.

If you need something immediately (which it certainly sounds like you
do) and don't want to mess with new softare also, follow Trond's
suggestion and get the ATI Radeon 64 MB DDR.

I don't know how good the 3D support is in that card, but I'm certain
it's better with the 7500. If 3D support is important and you're
planning to be snowed in tomorrow, I'd start the XFree86 4.2 download
tonight from:

ftp://people.redhat.com/mharris/Xhide

and use the snow day to get it working rather than spend money on the
older card.
