wp> On my IBM Thinkpad I had to add the intern_disp/extern_disp
wp> options to the "Device" section in the X config file. E.g.:

  wp> Section "Device"
  wp> Identifier "NeoMagic"
  wp> VendorName "MagicGraph 256 AV 48K"
  wp> Option "hw_cursor"
  wp> Option "intern_disp"
  wp> Option "extern_disp"
  wp> EndSection

Werner:

Not sure I ever thanked you for the letter ... was madly preparing for
a presentation, so it might have slipped my mind. Anyway, thanks!

As it turns out, the above made no difference. I still am unable to
have *both* a laptop (Dell Latitude CPx, RH7.0) and projected screen
image (*simultaneously*. It works fine, unfortunately, using M$ Windoze.

If you or anyone else has other ideas, I'm all ears!
