Hm, as far as I remember, in RH6.2, the installation disk also had a rescue
function - isn't that given as one of the options? I *know* I've used the
installation disk (boot.img) as rescue disk before, I'm just not certain,
which RH version it was. It worked in RH 4.2, RH 5.2 changed something and I
*think* it worked again in RH 6.2.
Come on, guys, help that man out: How does the rescue mode operate again?
So far, I haven't used it very often, as I usually had boot disks around
<knocks-on-wood>
Another option could be (untried, but might be worth a shot) to get one of
these one-floppy mini-Linux distros, install that on a floppy, boot with it
and use it as rescue disk. That might actually work.
