Of course, your mileage may vary, but I've got a Linksys 5 port 10/100
switch (cost me somewhere around $75-$100 less than a year ago) that
had one of the ports stopped working after about 6 months (and of
course it only had a 90 day warranty). The other 4 ports still work
fine.
Just in case I'm being stupid, the light for that port just blinks
continuous when I plug a computer into it and no data is received.
Plugging the cable into another port solves the problem. I assume
this means that port is dead (and no, I'm not plugging it into the
uplink port).
