OK - due to the wonderful response that I got on the CD burner request -
I'll put the next one up...
I am getting an ABIT KT7A-RAID m/b tonight to replace my KT7A (I am giving
my friend the KT7A and my extra duron 750 in trade since my m/b is used).
Now I need to figure out the best HDs to use. I want to do striping, since
I need to do video capture. I already have Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 60 (30
gig) as a data drive and I could just get another one of those, but I really
need good performance, so if a pair of (for instance) IBM DeckStar 75GXPs
would give a serious performance increase (like 10% or more) I would happily
switch to them (and give the Maxtor to my daughter who would be VERY
grateful!)
Let's not get into a discussion of SCSI over IDE please. I am keeping this
machine IDE.
